Contacted Universal Funding. Completed all applications and submitted all requested financial documents. Was told by Gary Bergamo, that we were approved for a 6 figure loan, and all we needed to do was submit the finalized agreement along with the $2000.00 processing fee that the loan would be funded within 72 hours.
Loan never funded. 8 months later, promised that they $2000.00 would be refunded.
Never received refund. These people are to be avoided. They are preying on companies that are looking for alternative financing as banks have shut their doors to small business. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOTHING !!!!
They are to be avoided. They cannot even keep your name straight. I would send them an email with my name on it, and they would reply and call me a different name.

Hi there - I'm Carl here at Universal.
I'd like to respond directly to the claims made in the statement above. Firstly, there is no Gary Bergamo working at Universal. Secondly, we are known as "Universal Merchant Funding" not "Universal Funding" as mentioned above: there is a second Universal in the same business we are. Thirdly, we do not now, nor have we ever, charged an application fee, and our clients are not asked to pay a fee in order to receive an offer either.
The facts here are easily verified: a quick visit to our website, appearing on search pages just above this link, will demonstrate that you can apply easily, with no fee. We know if our terms are not appealing to our customers, the time we have spent servicing that client is literally wasted. Should a customer decide to take their business elsewhere, we walk away empty-handed.
Our firm deals with literally hundreds of clients monthly, and thousands over the course of the year. This one posting, an anonymous posting at that, represents the sole example of dissatisfaction with our products and service.
