Being an employee at Universal Protections as a security officer means you get no paid time off. No vacation, or sick. If any time off is needed employees have to take the hit in wages. Employees are required to work holidays like christmas, new years, easter, thanksgiving, and any other holiday that most companies have off. Working for the Santa Ana branch (not corporate) as a security professional is different than if you work in the actual branch as a secretary who answers phones, or any position in the office. The office gets way better benefits like health benefits, paid vacation, paid sick, and paid holidays off. Now this is not corporate it is only a branch.

A branch who's employees, whether in office or out of office, are all from the same branch employer. Something is very wrong here!. Heres a screwy things from this branch, when christmas arrives the bonus you receive is never from UPS. They make the client who contracted their services pay it to the security officers and this year I was given 50 dollars as a bonus for christmas from the client and due to UPS and sticky fingers i ended up $37.50 after taxes it was $34.22. Then $12 is not accounted for and this happened to 7 employees I work with including myself. When it was confirmed by the client l that our bonus was supposed to be $50 it crushes your beliefs in the company you work for.

We work constantly with no time off with pay, we work every holiday, health benefits that is to expensive for a low paid employee to afford, so at the end of the year when a client shows their appreciation by giving a bonus for christmas l why does UPS have to take that away by being the middle man and tax it after they take their cut. In addition while working one day i listened to a supervisor sit and talk about how disposable security officers are and if they didn't want to mark a box stating they did something when they didn't they will be fired and replaced with no hesitation. I have many stories like this that i have seen, heard, or experienced myself. Question remains does my voice matter? Does anyone even care?

I was fired 2 months after 1st report

AUTHOR: DoUcare - ()

POSTED: Monday, January 06, 2014

2 months after my 1st complaint as an employee with Universal Protection Services I was terminated. The reason given was documented as being 1 minute late which cameras show that to be a lie. I was not late. Cameras also showed the manager who had me fired for that false reason had been 45 minutes late.

I put in a complaint with upper management and all I recieved back was a fight to get my unemployment. The original termination papers I signed with my complaint never made it to my file. Luckly I got a copy which 1 year later I finally recieved my unemployment.

Today, 3 years later I have had multiple interviews but for some reason never a job offer. One oppurtunity I came recomended and only applicant. I was told orientation was in a week and I would recieve a call to set it up and the call I ended up getting was a apology due to the position being filled.

I had a feeling my prior employer (Universal Protection Services) had a huge part in my issue as a reference.

I had a private investigator call protending to be a possible employer. A man who I have never herd of who took the position of the man who fired me was saying negative things about me that were untrue and never meeting me said "I would never rehire her again, if you can read between the lines". The man even had a attitude so negative about me, I was told by the PI no one would ever give me a job offer with how the man spoke of me.

I graduated from college in 2013 earning a BA in CRIMINAL JUSTICE and with a reference they are giving me makes my dagree useless. Im lost on what to do.
