*Consumer Suggestion: Nancy...
Two salesman came to my door on December 16, 2007, selling magazines. I bought a subscription. I paid $55.00 in cash, and recieved a receipt. The receipt states that the magazines can take up to 120 days. It's been well after 120 days, and I haven't received ANY magazines. I've tried calling the company with the number listed on the receipt, and I can not get ahold of a "live" person. I've emailed them twice now asking for a full refund, and I haven't gotten any response. Basically, I gave these guys $55.00, and didn't get anything for it. Is there anything you can do to help?

Yes, there is something you can do. It's a little too late to refuse their wares at this point, but in the future, never purchase magazines from door to door "kids in a contest", or from young folks claiming to be earning their way to school or some other charitable line. They are simply crossing the country, and collecting as much money as they can on behalf of their Managers. These Mgrs are NOT nice people, impossible to track down without resources that frankly you do not have...so what is my advice? Tell ALL your friends/relatives r.e. your experience and enlighten them for the inevitable contact they will no doubt encounter at some point. Many of the maggers have criminal histories...so NEVER, EVER let them into the house. Yes a few people are lucky enough to have their order filled, but the risk/exposure to the people who choose to do this job just is NOT worth the bloated price you pay at the doorstep.Getabunch!
