UPS - Mail Boxes Etc - The UPS Store severe damage to insured belongings shipped, no reimbursement, ripoff Camarillo California

In January I shipped my belongings from Camarillo to Akron OH using UPS because of their reputation. the new Home Depot boxes arrived with many large holes, scrapes & tears, causing damage to contents. all boxes were packed using clothing, towels, etc as cushioning. everything was packed tightly with no air-pockets.

I insured the box in question for $1000 as it contained a laptop computer & FMI (Fulton Musical Industries)-80 speakers. the speakers arrived wrecked. they are not replaceable. I looked many times & could not find them on eBay. I paid $400 for them in 1978. similar speakers today would cost $1000. they were a Stereophile magazine "recommended component" in 1977.

when The UPS Store said "no", UPS, whose employees did the actual damage, said only The Store could investigate the claim. after many calls they did send someone to look at the evidence, then said "no" again, then refused to re-open the claim. The Store's parent comany MBE & UPS refused to help.

I submitted a complaint to the BBB 4/7. that process is taking a ridiculous length of time. I will probably be submitting a complaint about the BBB soon.
