try to do this in order:

1. 10/19 2 packages sent from macon, GA ups store to san antonio TX tracking 925558806758 with insurance 400.00.

2. came home fri. 10/24 with note on door saying 2nd attempt at delivering packages. never recieved note of first attempt. called # and csr informed that store is closed on weekends and i would have to wait until monday for packages to be redilvered.

3. 10/27 wait all day at apt so i do not miss ups truck. 5 pm call tracking states packages in route. ok 7pm i call and csr informs they had to send packages back to store due to damage. they were not damaged on fri when it was supposed 2nd attempt. they said i could pick them up at the store in san antonio if i wanted. ok. called back 2 min later to get address of store. csr informed they are on the way back to macon ga not in san antonio anymore. what??? already upset stayed in apt all day waiting but packages were never going to be delivered due to damage. all stores closed after 7 cannot find were package really is and cannot pick them up have to wait until tomorrow when they open.

4. 10/28 first csr informs packages in route to me in san antonio. that can't be right. supervisor says no it looks as if the packages were refused by me and are being sent back. no i never talked to ups deliverer. supervisor well it looks as if the packages were damaged in transit and will be shipped to original store were they came from. what? i give up. if in san antonio i will come and get them. no sir they are in macon. ok tell macon to send them back due to your fault and i never refused packages. that is up to the shipping store. call shipping store.. shipping store informs according to tracking they are still in san antonio we do not have the packages. 2 packages were both damaged give me the one that isn't damaged. ups, we have to send both back. what?.

5. pakcages are completely lost no-one knows where they are. 1 shows up in macon then 2 days later the next package shows up. owner refused to resend packages or offer any money back for thier mistake. nothing was wrong with packages when they arrived back at original store. had to pay usps to ship and got here in 2 days at half the price. never never pay ups outrageous prices to ship anything. owner of store informed this is private business he has nothing to do with ups company. why does the front of your store say ups store. christmas is coming busiest time of year for shipping hope this person does not lose all your christmas packages and makes your experience with ups a nightmare.

I cant beleive what the customer said. There are lot of things in his report that dont add up. May be out of frustration he vented out on this UPS Store and its not fair.

We at this UPS store (Mostly all UPS store) try to defend customers when trying to get refund from UPS. We always keep in mind that we work for customers and not the UPS. But at the same time we can't pay the customers from our pocket.

Let me say the following,
-- UPS Store is not UPS. Its a franchise and individually owned. Secondly we do DHL and USMAIL.
-- UPS STore Do not distribute packages. We only Receive packages and hand them over to the respective shipping agencies( UPS or DHL, OR US MAIL)
-- If the packeges are damaged in transit then its the "UPS Policy" to return to shipper.
-- If the receiver is not avalable then its the "UPS Policy" to return the packages to UPS Store.

The tracking number that the customer gave is wrong. We do document the paper work and Fortunately we have only one case.

If we ( "UPS STore") at fault, then we can refund his money.
-- According to customer he is at home and according to UPS he is not at his home. Whom should we beleive?
-- According to customer the packages are not damaged while UPS is saying the packages are damaged. WHom should we beleive?
when the packages arrived to this UPS store , they seems to be damaged ( Crushed because of insufficient packing and customer mentioned that he has breakable items like pciture frames.
-- Customer Could have talked to me and showed me the contents of package and we ( UPS STore) would have at least got the money back for him. He did not give us a chance and just wrote this report

Its not fair to blame this UPS store with out knowing facts. If any one reading this wants to know what happened, please let me know and I will give the both tracking numbers, they can see what happened and determine for themselves.

PS: I am not sure what made you to write this but you saw the replies and hope by this time you reliased that you are wrong.

Thank you and give us a chance and may be you will be satisfied with our service.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

There are several ways to avoid this all to common issue.

First, just like the other contributor stated, the UPS Store has absolutely nothing to do with the delivery of your package. They are a 3rd party vendor for UPS. It is a franchise. They are NOT even UPS employess, as each location is independently owned and operated.

Second, always get tracking info from the person sending the packages, so then you can follow the whole process on your computer. Each time that package is scanned into a facility or on or off a truck, you will know.

Third, and MOST IMPORTANT..NEVER use UPS without the INSURANCE AND SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION.

Here's why. Many drivers are overwhelmed on the route they have so they have to "bypass" several deliveries per day. They make false entry saying they attempted delivery when they never even stopped.

I have been a victim of this myself, as I was home waiting on a UPS delivery that I had been tracking online. I saw the UPS truck go right past my house! I called in immediately and was on extended hold. So I went online and looked at the "tracking" and it showed "delivery attempt - notice left".

I said what?????? No attempt was made! I saw the fool drive right past my house!

Well, that was my last business transaction with UPS. And, FedEx is even worse.

I only use USPS now, and found out that in most cases, the rates are better and the delivery is faster! AND, less damaged and lost items. Actually I have had NO damaged or lost items with USPS, and I have saved money!

UPS wears a BROWN uniform for a reason. It symbolizes the quality of service!

ups store is right

The owner is right he doesn't have anything to do with ups or how they deliver your package. All ups stores are independently owned and pay a percentage to ups to use their name and rates (that are not or shouldn't be marked up) to increase clientele. He should have refunded your money which ups should have paid him since your packages were missorted and thus not delivered on time.
