Urban Tails Recycled Paws Rescue FALSE PROMISES, FRAUDULENT, COMPLETELY MISLEADING, UNINFORMED, CLAIMING TO BE SOMETHING THEIR NOT IN EVERY ASPECT OF BUSINESS!!! Peekskill, New York

PLEASE do a lot of research before deciding to adopt any animal from Urban Tails pet adoption center in Peekskill, NY and really LISTEN and DOCUMENT what the employees tell you about what they offer for your pet.

We decided to adopt an 8-week-old puppy from Urban Tails at one of their open house events. We were given a price of 450$ and were told the price could be reduced to 300$ if we left the puppy with them for an additional week so they could take it to a local vet to get her completely tested for common illnesses and so she could be updated on her shots. We were completely obliged to leave our new puppy with Urban Tails staff so they could take care of the above for us. Keep in mind Urban Tails also claims to be a non-profit organization, which I find extremely hard to believe since Ive adopted pets in the past and fees have only been 50$ for adoption including a valid vet visit, testing, shots, and medication. But we fell in love with her, and our love is unconditional.

After a week had passed, we called Urban Tails and told them we were ready to come by and get our puppy. The owner then told us our puppy had tested positive for Parvo. (Parvo is a very serious and fatal disease some puppies contract. When a puppy has Parvo they have to be quarantined for at least 6 months.) We were given medication to cure our puppys Parvo. After being home for a couple days our new puppy started coughing and showing signs of an upper respiratory infection. We took her to our vet who then informed us our puppy was completely a-symptomatic of Parvo and that the medication Urban Tails had given us was simply an herbal remedy! Not an antibiotic that they claimed to have given us. Not only that but Parvo cannot be cured! As was informed to us by the Urban Tails owner.

After realizing I had no medical records of my puppy ever being to any vet, I then contacted the vet that Urban Tails claimed to have brought my puppy to and spoke to the doctor himself. He said he had absolutely NO record of my puppy even being in his office at all and therefore had no medical record of diagnosing my puppy with any illnesses and/or administering medication to her.

When I contacted Urban Tails and confronted them about our issue, they were completely non-responsive and uncaring to our concerns. They had 100 different bill breakdowns, none relating to the last. They had no explanation as to why they had previously stated they were going to take the puppy to the vet and didnt.  They showed no valid knowledge as to why they diagnosed our puppy with Parvo other than on the premise that she had diarrhea and then all of a sudden told us the medication was for her kennel cough (which was never mentioned until I told her our vet diagnosed her with an upper respiratory infection).

This information goes on for days; there are so many other things that happened between now and then that our puppy and we have had to go through with this company. I can go through everything if contacted. PLEASE again take my advice and do extensive research on Urban Tails if you plan on adopting a pet from this company. If it were me, Id stay away from them and go to another adoption center but Id never skew anyone from adopting a pet that needs a good home and they sure have a lot there.
