US Airways I got a ticket but you aint got a plane or flight crew? Charlotte South Carolina

I am working in Iraq and want to get home every 6 months. I choose US Air because of the availability/ price.

I have been flying for 23 years until US Airways can't seem to get into the air.

2005 I had 2 trips home. Both went thru Charlotte to FL.
The first, I had been waiting at the gate from approx 1500(my boarding time) until 2230 hrs. The weather was good. There was a plane at the gate but no flight crew all this time. The story and the flight crew arrival times kept changing. I could tell this was a delay tactic being used by the counter attendants.

The second incident 6 months later, I actually missed the first flight because of customs and was told there would be another flight at 1800 hrs (5 hour wait). Upon arriving at the gate US Air had a HUGE line. They had actually cancelled the larger plane and had put a smaller one in it's place. People with actual seats were being told they have no seats but were being offered these vouchers. I did actually get a flight at 2345 hrs after waiting at the gate for over 8 hours.

I have never had problems like these before.

PS: On the flight from Frankfurt to the US the flight crew made an exit row into a crew resting area. Folded the seats down and draped a curtain around it. Strange?
