I paid $13,000 to build glassed-in patio to US Aluminum Services aka US-Aluminum us-aluminum.com/ . I wish I never hired them. Horrible people, terrible customer service and crappy product. First of all it took them 4 months to build the patio instead of prommised 2 months. After it was built patio roof started leaking. They came, inspected it and refused to fix it. I put floors in, furnished it and now the darn thinkg is leaking. Other contractors don't want to fix it. As one GC bluntly put it "I am not going to get in this s..t and try to fix another contractors f...-.p". Stay away from US Aluminum Services as you will waste your money. And the worst part is after they screw up other contractors will refuse to fix it.

My Patio Roof is Still Leaking

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, April 08, 2015

US Aluminum provided a lengthy explanation but the fact is that my patio roof is still leaking. Other patio company inspected my roof and found lots of errors done by US Aluminum. The biggest one is that they never installed flashing. Stay away from them since they don't know how to properly build sunrooms.

US Aluminum Services has been proudly serving Florida Residents and Developers since 2003, completing approximately 1700 projects annually. Our founder and President is a licensed General Contractor and has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry.

The project for Mr. K was completed per the contract signed on 10/24/2014. The structure was designed and installed in compliance with all Florida building codes. The design was signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer and passed final inspection by Polk County building department on 2/5/2015. The project was inspected and water tested by a US Aluminum Services Quality Control Supervisor in the presence of the homeowners on 3/11/15. The QC Supervisor advised Mr. K that the leaks are not coming from the roof we installed, but are actually caused by cracks in their exterior house wall stucco.

Mr. said he understood and said he would pay for the repairs needed to his exterior house wall stucco. After receiving the inspection report, the Customer Service Manager contacted Mr. K and recommended he hire a stucco contractor since this type of work needed is not our specialty. At no point has US Aluminum refused to complete service or repairs to the sun room installed. He has a warranty of 2 years and we will continue to honor this warranty based on our terms and conditions. The following is a time line of the project.

3/11/15 Service call was completed with QC Field supervisor and Service Technician in the presence of both homeowners. Water test was performed on the sunroom roof installed by US Aluminum and no leaks were found. QC Field supervisor performed water test on exterior house wall stucco of the home and the leaks were evident and homeowner was advised water intrusion into the room were caused by the cracks in the house wall. Homeowners stated they would pay to get this repaired. QC Field supervisor advised he would take his findings to the office and that the office would be contacting him.
3/12/15 Homeowner was contacted by Customer Service department and advised US Aluminum could not repair the stucco work as this was not our specialty and they would have to hire a stucco contractor. We recommended to contact the contractor they hired 2 years prior to make repairs on the exterior house wall stucco.
