In the summer of 2009 my wife & I decided to inquire about the benefits of having "US FIDELIS" Extended Service Coverage(Rusty Wallace & son convinced us to take a leap of faith) We entered into a 24 month contract @ $77.21 monthly. About 19 months into our commitment, my wife accidentally came upon a website that made it public knowlege that "US FIDELIS" declared Chapter 13 Bankruptcy & that all business & financial matters were taken over by an outside agency(obvious mismanagement & misappropriation of finances)until such time that court proceedings were final. Now, if there was some hope of revitalization or reunification within the company all would've been well... But; the future for said companies was deemed hopeless & matter-of-fact. After doing research on the pro's & con's of remaining a consumer, we decided to cancel our agreement. I felt that we were lulled into a false sense of comfort & convinced that everything was fine. We were never made aware  that the company had already declared bankruptcy @ the moment we entered into a law binding agreement, & they were fully re'cognisant of the fact no future lie ahead. After speaking with a representative on the phone & cancelling our contract, I was sent the necessary paperwork to make the dissolution of our relationship official. I returned these documents in a timely manner and was reassured that a refund would be imminent, but that it would take some time & there was no guarantee on exactly how much I am entitled to. Here we are 6 months after the fact; and have not heard a single peep or received any calls or emails regarding this matter. I truly believe that I am entitled to a considerable refund, after all, 19 months & no less than $1466.99 in payments: and not one single claim or repair in the course of being a consumer. Please tell me that being a responsible & stable customer counts for something in these days and times..

There may be an element of criminal fraud here

AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, May 19, 2011

If they sold you this warranty contract AFTER they knew they were insolvent and/or entering BK procedings, that is fraud, and you may have a criminal case.

Maybe the feds could build a RICO case.

I knew the first time I saw the commercial they would fail.

There is NO WAY you can cover any vehicle up to 175,000 miles or 15 years with a comprehensive warranty . Just common sense here.

Think about it.

I could go buy a total junker for like $500, even one under 100,000 miles.

Then I buy the comprehensive warranty package like you did, and fix everything on the junker $100 at a time considering the deductible.

Just common sense.

They were setup to fail from day one.

The new commercials for a similar plan are now only on the radio, and they never even give a company name!

My advice is to always do your homework before forking over your money or signing contracts.

Again, just plain old common sense.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
