Received a phone call at my residence from unknown caller.  Man said he was from the Grant Department and I was eligible and approved to receive the grant I had applied for.  He asked me how I would use it: personal, education, home repairs, etc.  He did NOT speak English that was easily understood, mainly due to his accent.  I asked how much the grant was for and that I did not recall applying for it.  He said an email address with my name in it, but it was not an email address that I had ever used.  He knew my full name and home address, and obviously my phone number.  I said sure, I'll take the money.  He said he had to transfer me to the confirmation department.  I was going to hang up but I waited.  The next phone operator had the same accent.  I asked again for the name of the company.  He said "US Financial Services"  I said where are you located; he replied, "Pleasant Grove Utah, 84062.  I asked if they just call people and mail them a check for no reason and no strings attached; he said, "Yes, it is a free grant!"  He asked if I wanted a paper check or direct deposit.  I said a paper check.  He said I would receive a paper check by mail in 3-5 days and verified my address.  He said there would be a processing fee of $3.87.   Again I asked where the money was coming from; he said , "the Grant Department of the Federal Government".  I told him the Federal Government would have sent me a letter in the US mail.  He said, "You do have a letter!"  I asked for the phone number so I could call back after I found the letter (which I don't believe exists).  He became very flustered and said his time was up and it was a different time where he was and he was leaving.  I again asked for their phone number so I could call back tomorrow (just to get the phone number).  He said, "Ok thank you" and hung up.  I just googled the company and this ripoff site came up.  SCAM!
