US Freightways Employee Discrimination and Unfair Businees Practices Elk Grove Village, Illinois

I worked for this company for a week about a month or two ago. I was hired on the spot in my interview by a person who had no idea how to run a company. I agreed to be paid 28k a year this will be important later.  So I began to work for this company and quickly realize there is something going on. They pay you salary as listed about but you must work 50 hours a week no overtime. Next, you learn on the first day that they do NOT allow you to take a break, a crime in the state of Illinois which requires at least a 30 minute break if you work over 8 hours.  So I start to do my job which is a truck dispatching gig.  I have little experience in this and am assigned to a trainer. However, my trainer is Bulagarian with a heavy accent and I can hardly understand a thing he is saying. He tell me how to do the very complicated job in 5 minutes and throws me into work. Of course, I have no idea what I'm doing but I begin to figure it out. Over the course of the week I taught myself how to do my job while asking him questions when he wasn't busy. He was always busy and had to do his own job.  At this point I have no problem with the job and realize that work is hard. However, after one week when I start to get a hang of the job they unexpectedely and unfairly fire me.  I am stunned because I've done absolutely nothing wrong and treated everyone with respect. However, I noticed that most everyone in the company has developed an unwarrented dislike for me. You see, they are all Bulgarian and speak Bulgarian to eachother all day.  The discriminated against me because I was white and fired me like I said for no reason. Again, even though at this point I'm not too upset because the company and job sucked. Now remember I mentioned I made 28k a year to start. This is not the case and yet another lie the employer told me.  Now, at 28k a year simply divide that by 52 weeks and you get a figure or estimate of your weekly pay should be around $538 a week (not bad) next divide that by the hours you work (50) to see how much you make an hour: $10 seventy something.  This is a rip off.  However, I agreed to the amount so I accept it.  Here is where this company gets it wrong. They don't pay me the agreed amount. They do not take taxes out of the money they give me either.  On my first check it was a little less then 100 which is fine. However my next check was $410 over a hundred short.  Finally, the never sent me my last check.  On the day I was fired they gave me my first check and I noticed it had the wrong address on it.  I bring it to the attention of the payroll manager and he insist he will fix the mistake and mail it to the right address.  He never did.  Then I call them and politely ask where my check is.  They tell me they sent it out. It never comes so I go there and tell them I want my check, they tell me they have to wait to get it back and charge me $25 to pay for their lost check mistake. This company is biased, prejudice, practices unfair working wages, and mistreats their drivers.  They book loads for independent contract drivers. They then lie to their drivers about how much the job is worth, of course they are gonna make a cut because it is their business, but they further that even more by putting little blue stickers over the actual price the driver and the company have agreed to give, and steal the drivers money.  Never do business with this company if you are a driver.
