We entered into a verbal contract, I was offered nearly $3,000.00 for my scrap gold. I weighed it, calculated it and their offers seemed reasonable as per their website. I have pictures to prove that I sent them all the jewelery, I have an inventory list of the jewelery I sent including a diamond ear ring that was my grandmothers that was real that they are claiming is fake. According to my calculations I sent them nearly $5,000 worth of gold but at least $3,000.00 and they refuse to return the gold without me signing a release of liability so I won't sue. Well I refuse to release them of liability when they clearly breached our verbal contract. I was offered $3,000 nearly by Jose Cabba and then received a phone call the next day from Steven Sanders, to tell me they would not pay as much as they offered and gave me a different offer of only $573.00, the price of gold has hit historic highs, currently is at $1530 an ounce. I am clearly trying to protect my rights and they have clearly tried to swindle me out of my possessions and my grandparents possessions that we both sent. I am asking for my gold back but they refuse to return it without me signing that liability release and I am not giving them that because I will not get anything back. They also stated they would gladly return the gold if I didn't want to sell it to them before I sent it but now they are wanting the release of liability signed before they return my gold. Also they stated they would return my gold without charging me, now they are wanting me to pay $60.00 for insurance to return my package. This is a clear violation of my rights and a breach of the verbal contract we entered into. I am a single man and was trying to get money because of current economic conditions. This was my grandparents jewelery that this company is clearly trying to steal. They possibly switched the diamond that was completely real with a fake gem because they are saying its fake now. This is ridiculous. Please help! DONT USE USGOLDBUYERS.COM, they will rip you off!!

Reality

AUTHOR: bench jeweler 40yrs. - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 06, 2012

I am a bench jeweler with 40 years of experience. I doubt strongly you were ripped off. US Gold Buyers .com has an A + rating with the BBB and many satisfied customers for may years, including professionals.

Here are some suggestions that may help people realize just what they have before they send in their goods: Look at the inside of rings, ends of chains and backs or sides of pendants and earrings for the karat mark. Gold should be marked 10KT, 14KT, 16KT, 18KT, 22KT, 24KT or marked with the percentage, i.e.; .585 or.750 perhaps.999.. Sterling Silver.995. Plus show a trademark next to the karat mark, or the percentage mark. If you don't see a trademarkmark. You should suspect something may not be what it is marked as!

Take the items to a jeweler and have them tested and weighed. Perhaps even appraised. Especially if stones such as diamonds are involved! If the valuables are to be scrapped I would have a few large pieces sawn in two and test the middle. The reason for this is that some ripoff might plate the outside so heavily that it may pass the touchstone and acid test yet actually contain an inner core of base metal!

Also there are some stones that will pass an electronic diamond tester. They then must tested with a second tester to be certain it is not a fake. Or un-set and examined by a G.I.A. or E.G.L. certified diamond expert. Anything short of this. You don't really know what you have. Gold Buyers.com pays the proper price for gold. Many others don't.

RIPOFF - US GOLD BUYERS, INC. - UPDATE

AUTHOR: Unsatisifed and Betrayed Customer - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 22, 2011

What happened to your allegations of insurance fraud, did I disprove those accusations? Yeah I did! And what happened to you allegations that I was de-frauding your company by using your FexEx Account? Those were the attempts to slander and defamate my character and thanks for giving it to me in writing!  And now you are attempting to say Im slandering you and defamating your company and saying once again that I will be prosecuted for damages.  These allegations are false, your representatives lied to me about everything and you are excluding important information about the entire situation. If you would like I could post all the emails I have in my email, most of the communication is hearse i.e. phone conversations
but sellers can get the idea. Yes I did weigh and calculate itand the quote I was given by your representative prior to sending the gold was much higher and then I added in additional quantities of silver, gold and a diamond ring!

Thank you. That is the only reason I chose US Gold Buyers, I am no liar David and once again you are attempting to slander and defamate my character by saying A potential customer who claims to be a victim or the company who is attempting to clear its name against smear and false accusations? You are saying I am lying about everything.  Did it happen or not? I have the receipts showing proof and emails, proof I created the FedEx Account, and on what day, receipts and tracking numbers for the package, pictures of the gold itself, what else?

Mmm, oh yeah all these written reports on RipOff Report. So I advise you to choose your words wisely, thanks.

Oral Breach Of Contract

AUTHOR: David Franks - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 22, 2011

Slander and defamation of character is being made by you Mr. Salinas.
By federal law, you will be held legally responsible for damages to the reputation of the business so choose your actions wisely.
You claim that you weighed and calculated your so called gold. You are missing one other very important factor in determining value. Did you ever test it yourself?  Did you have a professional examine it? Did it ever occur to you that it might be costume or gold filled? Did you receive any actual offers locally prior to shipping your items? Did you re evaluate your items locally once you received them back?
Of course its your word over our company. Who can one believe? A potential customer who claims to be a victim or the company who is attempting to clear its name against smear and false accusations?
Let' look at the facts
1) US Gold Buyers has been in business since 1996 and maintains an A rating with BBB. Copy and paste link to review http://www.bbb.org/NYC/business-reviews/jewelry-buyers/us-gold-buyers-inc-in-new-york-ny-93161/
2) US Gold Buyers has over 500, 000 satisfied customers since inception. Common sense says that there would be several other complaints of this nature if the company was less than honest
3) Finally, reputable news sources would not be publishing stories on fraudulent companies. copy and paste link to review http://www.usgoldbuyers.com/press-release-gold-buyer.html

As one wise man said: Those who point fingers at others, usually have three fingers pointing back at them.

To whom it may concern:

Don't attempt to slander or defamate my character David Franks! YOU AND YOUR REPRESENTATIVES LIED TO ME AND TRIED TO MAKE EVERYTHING MORE DIFFICULT EVEN WHEN WE DISAGREED WITH YOUR OFFER AND THEN I HAD TO PAY FOR THE INSURANCE ON THE RETURN WHICH WAS NOT DISCUSSED WITH ME PRIOR TO SENDING. THEREFORE I HAD TO CREATE MY OWN FEDEX ACCOUNT AND PAY FOR THE ENTIRE SHIPMENT AND INSURANCE TO BE RETURNED. THEN I WAS ACCUSED OF DEFRAUDING YOUR COMPANY BY YOU SIR, DAVID FRANKS AND I QUOTE "THAT I WOULD BE PROSECUTED" BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT I USED YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER TO PAY FOR THE RETURN SHIPMENT. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE PLAYING WITH HERE, KIDS? I'M SORRY BUT NO!

Also, I was quoted $3,000 and the reason that we increased the insurance coverage is because the $3,000 was solely for several items that were quoted, we added in my Grandmother's diamond ring, additional silver, and gold to be appraised and was told to insure it from your company representative, therefore your are lying and attempting to slander my name and telling me shame on me! NO SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR COMPANY SIR! THE VERBAL CONTRACT WAS BREACHED! I COULD SUE IF I WANTED...I REPORTED YOU T TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND WILL DO SO AGAIN SINCE YOU JUST REMINDED ME OF WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE YOU ARE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Hector Salinas attempt to defraud US Gold Buyers, Inc.

AUTHOR: David Franks - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 21, 2011

Mr. Hector Salinas contacted US Gold Buyers, Inc. ( New York Corporation) and described the items that he wished to sell. Based on his verbal description, he was offered a quote of approximately  $3000.00.

Furthermore, based on his description, Mr. Salinas was qualified for free insured shipping of his items to our facility. Mr. Salinas abused that priviledge by overinsuring his items by $2000.00. If he felt that his items were worth $5000 why did he agree to sell for $3000?

Was he hoping for his items to get lost or stolen so that he can cash in on $5000?

When his items arrived, they were video recorded and weighed for accuracy. After his items were examined, it was noted that over 90% was costume jewelry and less than $600 was recoverable in precious metals.

Mr. Salinas either failed to do his homework or intentionally attempted to defraud the company.

US Gold Buyers has been in exsistence for several years. The company is recognized by several reputable news media sources such as Wall Street Journal, ABC Nighline, Good Morning America, and many others as being reputable and fair. US  Gold Buyers has maintained an A+ rating with BBB. Click the link to view http://www.bbb.org/new-york-city/business-reviews/jewelry-buyers/us-gold-buyers-inc-in-new-york-ny-93161/US Gold Buyers, Inc. has over 500,000 satisfied customers. We didn't get to that level by practicing unfair business.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the business, there are petty, less than honest folks out there that attempt to take advantage of a good situation. When their scheme fails they stoop down even lower by writing false statements to sites such as Ripoff Report.

From all of us at US Gold Buyers, Inc., we wish that Mr. Salinas realizes that petty scams will get him in to trouble and that he develops positive outlook on life.
Shame on you Mr. Salinas!

Sincerely,
David Franks
Vice President
US Gold Buyers, Inc.

That Sounds About Right

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 29, 2011

CR did a survey. Those companies that advertise on TV pay about TEN to TWELVE PERCENT of spot, so if you sent them $5,000 worth of gold you can expect a check for about $500 to $600. I love that commercial where the old lady is holding up a check and saying "I got a check for $600" and I'm thinking, Yeah and she probably sent them about $6,000 worth of gold. Those TV commercials ain't cheap. Sell locally.
