We called in mid-May in answer to an ad in a newspaper saying Job Openings in US Post Office. They did not say that they weren't the US Post Office, instead they acted as if they were. They told my husband as soon as he purchased the book and studied, he could go in, anytime and take the test and there were many, many positions open in the US Post Office. My husband made it clear where we were moving and she said "Oh yes, lots of positions and you can take the exam at any time" We get the book, move immediately across the country, arrive, register to take the exam and find out there are only 1 or 2 exams a year and a job freeze in the US Postal Office where we moved. They told my husband, if it didn't work out, we would get a refund. They did not say only after a year of no exam offered. This is so deceiving, she lied to us, she took our money and said many things that were misleading. Do not be mislead by this company. Now, I can't get a hold of anyone and I can't get on the website.

I will report them to the FTC Bureau and plan on pursuing further action. $130.00 later is a hard lesson learned.

Are you serious? I mean you're spewing information out of your mouth that you did not hear! I'm sure that someone can give me their side of the story and I can twist it just the way you have done.

First, Testing Authority's ad says NOT AFFILIATED WITH USPS WHO HIRES! If you can read the ad to get the phone number, you can read the WHOLE ad!

Second, it states on the recording that the Post Office does NOT endorse any third party companies.

Third, there is a disclaimer in their materials as well as on the website.. hmm.. let me share it with you since you have NO problem reading:

**All candidates are required to register themselves and pass the Postal Battery Exam in order to be placed on the list of qualified candidates for a position. No independent test preparation organization, including Testing Authority, is either affiliated with or endorsed by the United States Postal Service or any government agency.

While Testing Authority does not directly process a candidate's Postal Battery Exam ( Exams 460 and 473) registration and/or exam date, our materials have been designed to assist individuals in their preparation for the exam. In addition, live operators are available to provide further information and respond to any questions candidates may have.

Testing Authority offers refunds for candidates who do not pass the exam or get hired on the first interview, but can not guarantee a particular score on the exam, or control when the USPS will offer the exam in your local area, when jobs may be available in any area, starting wages for any position, or make any hiring decisions, which are made by local postal authorities.

Information may have changed since publication. Please Note: The United States Postal Service offers study materials free of charge at www.usps.com or your local post office. Publication 60-A is a 32 page orientation guide for exam 473. Publication 60-E is a 32 page orientation guide for exam 460.

Our material is not from the library of the USPS. The publisher of this material is not responsible for any changes that may have been made to the Postal Battery Exam during or after its printing. USPS is a registered trademark of the United States Post Office. **

Fourth.. They went over not just 1 refund policy with you, but 4!

you will be refunded upon your request IF

1. you fail the exam
2. if you are not offered a job on your first interview
3. if you complete your first full week as a new postal employee..

and last but not least, the company realizes that some people live in very rural areas so they go on to say:

if there have been no job openings within 100 miles within 12 months requiring the postal exam 460, 473, or 473-C

They aren't trying to steal your money. They are trying to help you prepare yourself.

Not only that, they give you the instructions that are actually current to the way the post office requires you to even be able to take the exam, but you are too busy being upset over the 130 that you spent knowing good and well you would go spend that type of money just on a trip to the mall.

Why don't you call the customer service reps and instead of crying over a refund, ask them how to go forward. They are very pleasant people and really act as though they enjoy their position!

Hope this helps!
