I was a proud USSA customer for 2+ years then all of the sudden things took a turn for the worse.
In June of of 2012 I was leaving for tour with 2 months left on my auto policy and needed it pro rated because my car would be in storage.
After dealing with this issue for months I was told I had to pay the entire balance before it could be prorated. I went ahead and cancelled it and paid the remainder.
Now that I'm back home I need another policy so I get a policy online. Low and behold I'm on a time out with USAA and now I have to pay 30% up front and setup automatic bill payments (because of my cancellation).
I'm reluctant to do this but I go ahead anyways they've always been good to me. As I complete the process I get a message saying that a USAA rep must complete the order and to call them. (at this time they've already taken 30%).
Once on with a rep she informs me that there is no policy but she sees that they've taken the money and set up automatic payments. This doesn't fly well at all with me. I speak to a manager who tells me she will walk through a new policy with me.
I tell her that I want the exact same policy that I had 6 months ago(which includes roadside assistance) she puts it through but now my 30% down will cost even more and they setup another withdraw from my account. Thank God it's finally over I have insurance again and can stop dealing with this nightmare.... Wrong!!
Yesterday while on campus I come to my car and it has a flat, but I'm having trouble removing the spare I call roadside assistance they inform me that I don't have it on my policy I was furious and stranded. My first 6 month policy was $350 it skyrockets to almost $500 and nothing has changed no tickets or wrecks (I think it's because I had to cancel one of my policies) how the hell do I not have the roadside assistance.
Spent over an hours getting the run around and placed on hold 20minutes at a time. Passed back and forth to claims, and policy services. Complete nightmare they have really gone down the drain.
I had the policy cancelled that day and requested a full refund of my 30% today they can't tell me what the amount of the refund will be. And state that it won't be sent until after September 18th 2012.
This company is scum I don't know why my father would let me sign us with these people. I will be convincing everyone in my military family to leave USAA.
