USBI (Main Street Telephone)/Ridley Telephone Company started placing additional charges on my local phone bill back in July.
$15.56. August $15.59. On 30 August 04, after being on hold for 1 hour and 15 minutes, I emailed usbi@billview.com. Sylvia emailed me back stating that I needed to "call" them Mon-Fri at 1-888-460-0556; this was the number I had previously called. 31 August, 11:00am, I started calling USBI again, I finally reached Kevin, once I explained my situation to Kevin, his reply was, "Can you hold please? Let me see if I can look that up." I never heard from Kevin again. John came to the phone and said, "Hello, this is John, how may I help you?" By the way, John refused to give me his last name, only telling me he was "agent #1". I explained the sitation to him. He began telling me that "someone" in my household said "yes" to a pop up on the internet, entering my email address, which allows them to automatically bill the charges to my home phone number.

He ask if a child (or someone else) has access to my computer. Of course the answer was no. After explaining that I wanted credit for the charges, and that I expected this to be the last time I see charges, he stated that he would take my number out of their system. I requested a confirmation number, after telling me they don't give out confirmation numbers, he eventually "found" a confirmation number. I filed a complaint with my local telephone company, they placed a "PIC FREEZE" on my telephone number. I also filed a formal complaint with the FCC.
