USPS advertises 2-3 day ship times for Priority packages. They also call the number you get when you ship a package a "tracking number" even though the number only confirms you received the package.

In no way can you track a package to see where it is.

Also I was just informed that this 2-3 day service is not guaranteed and that it can take up to 5 business days before they consider it to be late.

They also stated that they have no liability whatsoever if the package doesn't arrive on time or at all.

The only time they will reimburse a customer for a package loss is if you pay extra for shipping insurance.

Basically the savings you get from using USPS instead of any other shipping companies is lost when you have to pay extra in order to get a proper tracking number (via express mail) and also pay extra for insurance.
