Vacation Station Telemarket Rip-Off Overland Park Kansas

My husband received a call from a man named John promising that he had won a Prize. John said that he had our information from an entry form that my husband had filled out at either a fair or mall. He said that my husband had won of the following prizes:
1. A new ford explorer or $30,000 cash option
2. A Vacation or $7,500 cash option
3. A 27 inch television (This seems to be the one prize they never change when they call you)
We also would receive a $40.00 gas card just for showing up.

We simply had to show up at their Overland Park address and listen to a 90 minute presentation. When my husband got off the phone and told me about it, I was thinking sure, what do they want to sell us? We decided out of curiousity to attend. Needless to say they wanted to sell us a Travel membership for $7,000.00. We sat through the whole presentation, simply because we found it amusing. We were then led to a room where we got our own personal attendent to give us yet another sales pitch. when we said "NO" to the $7,000.00 offer, we were told they could give us another package deal for $3,000.00. We still said no, but I was amazed at the number of people around us giving out their credit cards and buying into this scam.

When we left, we were given a scratch off card for our prize. We won the vacation. The vacation costs money and you cannot get the $7,500.00 cash option-Surprise!!!!!We did not get the $40.00 gas card we were promised either. We did get a $1,000.00 shopping gift Certificate to a shopping website. Unfortunatley it does not offer much and you must pay outrageous shipping charges for your items. I am so glad that I said No. I just wanted to post this message so others can make an informed decision when they get that "You have won call"
