I read the prior report in this newsletter and found every thing that was said to be true about Vacation Village Voyages.  It is a very expensive plan that is hard to use.  I was so upset with the lies the sales person told us in our meeting, that I called them saying that I refused to pay and it could go to collection for all I cared.  Regardless about what any of the paperwork said, I had two children that I had to keep an eye on while trying to listen to the sales pitch.  I repeated anything and everything that I wanted to make sure that they understood as well.

The Sales person lied about everything from how many days we could cancel, to the cost, as well as black out dates.

First off, I made sure to ask how many days that I had to cancel the days; I asked is it calendar days or business days?  Melanie said, that we had 15 business days.  I asked again, is it 15 business days or is it calendar days?  She replied oh no, it's 15 business days.  I figured that I had plenty of time to peruse the material and make a decision.

Well, after my son was done with school, I opened the paper work, reading through it, it said, 10 calendar days and not 15 business days.  I saw RED.  We told Vacation Village Voyages that we were not in a great financial way right now and we really needed time to think about it and Melanie replied again, "that's why you have the 15 Business days."  WRONG!!!  She talked about how the guy before us didn't do the plan and  she said that she didn't know how he could get a better rate some where else than this plan.  I said why do you think he said that?  Get this, she said, and forgive me I don't mean to offend any one but she said this, " because he was probably a cheap Jew"!  How did she not know that I wasn't Jewish; which I am.  I should have gotten up then but I didn't.  I feel very sad that I didn't say something.

Well, I called and complained and the financial guy told me to come to the office and bring all the materials and then when I got there, he said, "sorry", I can't do any thing for you.  He knew this but wanted to see if I would come to the mall and wait an hour to find parking.

He said to give him a call on Monday so that he could call their Head Quarters and see if he could get me a better rate.  I called him a couple of times and then I never heard back from him.  He kept saying that he was in a closing.   I wanted to scream to those people, "don't do it."

What's sad about this plan, you dont' know how bad it is until you try to use it.  Some body they pay lots of money too calL me to work out a deal with me but said that I would lose my deposit.  Right now, we are still in a dispute with our credit card company.  If we could get a refund as the plan costs $8000.00; which is quite a bit for a vacation plan that you can't use.  The guy sent me and email because what could I do.  I didn't want to lost $1000.00.  Please contact your attorney before signing anything.  They get people because you don't have an attorney present.  He sent me an email to reinstate our membership;  I didn't know that it had been cancelled.  If I knew that, I would have waited for a reply from my credit card company.  They told us that right now, we don't have to pay that amount.

This contract is not a deed.  Vacation Village Voyages uses sneaky tactics.  Well, we thought to ourselves since we are stuck, lets see if we could use the plan and guess what, we put a date to go away and it was not there; another lie told to us.

Also, when we were in the presentation, I told her where I would like to use the plan and she plugged it in and it came up $799.00.  She said, I don't know why it came up that price.  By what she said to us, it's supposed to be $299.00 all the time.  Then when you get a chance to really look at the paperwork, it's too late.

There needs to be a consumer advocate as companies take advantage of the consumer.  This needs to be stopped and I need help getting out of this plan before we lose our money.

Liar liar pants on fire

Every single component of the program is outlined in writing, line by line, requring your intitals. You read every single thing. Then it was outlined in detail and you signed that as well. Your rescission days were stated in your paperwork as well. You know how to get online and lie on this site. You also could have googled this infomation, and received your answers in a second.

If you heard a racist comment by an employee, as you state..your responsibility as a citizen is to report this immediately to their superior..not to go along with the joke and then use it later to complain online.

I have been an owner for many years...I like it very much. I have only twice since 2008 had to go outside of the plan, and that was due to needing to rent a house in an area that is not demanded by ANY tourist....it's just a residential part of a very small, boring town in the hills. Nothing is perfect or magic, but it's not necessary to blame others for your lack of due diligence. The state gives you 3 days to cancel...the company extended this as a courtesy because they treat us better than the state does.

Apparantly, the only thing that they company needs to change is to screen their invitations a little better. I also own a very expensive timeshare..which I use now as rental property. When we toured there we had to bring our pay stubs for the last month, our W2, our marriage license, and they did a credit check on us, before letting us in. Clearly, you snuck in through the back door.
