Value City Furniture ripoff Scam City Furniture! Northlake Illinois

So we just moved in to a new house in 2005 and it was time for new furniture and some person had notified my dad that you can get really cheap furniture from value city.

So we go to the nearest one in northlake. When you look at the furniture in the showroom it seems so glamourous and of high quality from the outside. So we look around and we find the furniture we like. I get a medium brown bed frame with a bookcase as a headboard. I would soon find out.

We find a sofa set which we like and it is supposedly Vegas suite style. The sofas are one of the most expensive in the store. I ask an employee for assistance for sales. And she says just a moment which turns out to be 10 mins. After we purchase them. They just hand me a note saying that they will deliver in 2 weeks. 2 weeks come by and I get a call saying that they will promise delivery in a week. They delivery comes and we are all happy.

Everything except the loveseat! The main component! And coincidentally we are inviting guest over in two days. On to my room. When we moved we got NEW wood flooring. When the guys came in to install it in my room they literally scratched it and I said do you need padding for it and he goes "no that's ok" It seemed like he wanted to bust outta there as soon as possible.

So when they assemble it they throw the mattress on there and leave. I didn't even have the time to tell them where I wanted it. On to the living room. As soon as they ring the doorbell(when they arrived), they have two people that already have the sofa on our sidewalk. I mean what kind of service is this? They just put our sofas wherever not listening to where we want it! So after they leave we have to place it by ourselves. We have to take the sofa to the family room then set it up and bring it back to the living room! We also find that the cushion buttons are loose and one is missing!!

So we invite guests with no loveseat! A year goes by and I notice that the mattress is going inside my bed frame and making imprints of the crappy wooden slats. my brother jumps on my bed and two of my wooden slats break!
I have to go to home depot for new slats because my warranty is over! Also the sofas are incredibly hard to sit on(keep slipping off) and they are so stiff. The door on the bed creaks as well as the bed! I hate it and worst of all it gives me back pain!! Being the hardworker my dad is I don't want to tell him that $500 went to waste over my bedding! You can barely fall asleep on it because it is like steep on one spot and not on the other.

This year I found the greatest store in history: IKEA. I really wish I had know about it before and bought furniture from there. I call up VCF and they are not authorized to give the corporate number. Somebody please give me the corporate number and no it cannot be found on the website.
