I took my car over there to get a simple OIL CHANGE...sitting in the waiting room waiting, they tried to rip me off by selling me an AIR FILTER...LIKE ALWAYS...regardless of how dirty or not it is. But thats not the rip off part...it get better! Get me keys back, get in my car, and turn it on. First of the bat, it started like shaking crazy, but I did't think it could possibly be from something they did. So I start driving down the street, didn't even get not 1 mile from where they were, stepped on the gas pedal to get out into traffic, and my car just dies INSTANTLY! Called my daughter to get a tow truck(she works at a tow company) and called my son(a mechanic) to see what the matter might be. I told him I just got an oil change and they tried to sell me a air filter AGAIN. He stops me right there. He wants me to check where the air filter goes and make sure it is all properly in place. OF COURSE...IT WASN'T!!! The uncertified "mechanics" had failed to put it back on properly. By this time, a very nice young man working for the City of Allen, just happened to be passing by and stops to see if I need anyhelp. He helped me out and got me on my way. As any pissed off customer would do, I went back up there to tell them by not correctly replacing the air filter, I almost had a accident with on coming traffic I was about to jump into right before my car died...ALL THEY COULD SAY *studdering* was well ma'am we are really sorry. Yeah, would sorry help if I was to get clobbered by the oncoming traffic?! HELL NO!! They REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING, and told me my ONE BAD OIL CHANGE would NOT hurt their business and let me go on my way without offering ANYTHING!!!!!!! MORAL OF THE STORY: Go there, get your oil change, refuse their scam SELLING an AIR FILTER, then go out into traffic and your car will died, and risk getting clobbered! I WILL NEVER BE BACK, AND WILL BE HAPPY TO SHARE MY STORY WITH ANY NEWS STATION, AND WILL BE POSTING MY a*s UP AT THEIR STORE SHARING MY STORY WITH EVERYONE COMING THROUGH THAT PLACE...I'LL EVEN GET SOME COUPONS FROM ANOTHER OIL CHANGE COMPANY AND PROMOTE THEIR BUSINESS THATS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET JUST SO THESE PEOPLE WILL SUFFER!

Then knowing it was a Murano they should have been extra careful. As far as I am concerned, they claim to service cars and if they come in working, they better leave working plus working better with fresh oil. Checking the filter makes sense, replacing one that does not need it does not, putting it back wrong is even worse. How can you justify what was done here and even saying it can happen across the street means it also can and likely did happen on that side of the street. Face it, mechanics and car dealers are often crooks and we spend a ton of money on cars. A lot of these guys bring all kinds of prejudice to their business and will do all kinds of things to screw you and have some excuse as to why. I don't agree with CK76, you try pulling out with a loose oil filter on a new 1 Ton truck and see how happy you become ten miles down the road in the middle of nowhere as your top end starts to talk back.

There is a lot to be said about finding a decent mechanic, not a dealer, who can do this stuff, or do it yourself if possible. These guys get away with a lot and can cost you some serious problems and financial loss and pass it off as an honest mistake.

To think that telling you about your airfilter, dirty or not, is not a ripoff. As far as the problem with the car dying, you drive a Nissan Muranno, this is a common issue with airfilter housing and air intake tube. It doesnt happen everytime, but it does happen. There are just a few of us in the industry that know exactly what to look for on most of the vehicles we service. I have had this happen to me a few times and yes it is frustrating, but its really not the end of the world. Human error is expected on occasion. As far as the guys across the street, I used to work for that guy and hes about as shady as they come.
