I purchase a Moblie Home from Clayton homes after hurricane Katrina because I had nowhere to go and the Federal gov.was not helping putting a roof over my family head like they were doing for other families,so then the Federal gov. sent me a check of 2,000 dollars and I felt like I could put this money to better use if I purchase a Moblie Home then waiting on them for furture help, and the rent was way to high (900) for a one bedroom apartment(big mistake).

Only to find out a year after the fact that my husband would lose his job due to the fact that he was driving for a truck company and they would fired him because there truck was at our house (he was home on his vacation)when the hurricane hit and then it was under water. He could not get permission to leave our town they had all roads in and out of our town block 2 days before the hurricane hit.So we were stuck riding out the hurricane in our home.

So I still made my payment on my moblie home until the month I moved out and I did a volunarty repo on my home, because my son couldn't decide if he wanted the moblie home or not. Then my son was the cosigner and he decided he would move in after we moved out so it would not make both of our credit go bad.So he call Vanderbilt and they told him I was 2 to 3000 dollars late on payment(when my payment were paid to the end of the month that I moved out.(My son called them the very next month to take my home over and they also told him the home had been sold without ANY NOTICE to us already.

Then they sold it to Dept.of Housing &Urban Development who only paid 16,000 for this home. Now we have had both our Federal income tax taken away from us and they say our home was sold to us for 86.000 dollars and we still owe 28.000.When we made the purchase it was only 32.000,so some where alone the line the price had been jack up big time. Now we both have to file bankruptcy to hopfuly get out from this.

I don't know what will happen when we do this we just started to file this.I don't know if filling brankruptcy will help us or not.But the personal at Vanderbilt Mortage were to us very rude and hateful every time me or my son tried to call them before they sold our home and they always lied,no matter who u talk to from the low people to the higher up.

I had aslo send my payment in to the wrong place I sent 2 money order at the same time one went to Vanderbilt and the other to another company and they got each other payment, the one that Vanderbilt got was not return to me but then the other one was from the other company because they knew I had made a mistake. Then after I got the money order that I had send to the other company I sent it to the right place Vanderbilt and they kept my other money order and refused to send the other one back to me and they didn't credit that to my account after it had been cash by Vanderbilt. So I got screwed again by them.

The other money order was made out to another company but Vanderbilt still cash it under that other company name, without a problem. Then if my husband claims Social Security they will still contuine to take this money from us for the balance due and the balance will contuine to go higher.I have no money or nowhere to turn I lost everything in Katrina and I lost everything afterward and I am still losing, hopley something will break soon I don't need any more bad luck I had enough already in the last 2 years after losing 2 sons and my house in the hurricane and then losing my moblie home and now having to file bankruptcy, and then maybe not being able to get everything that I paid in social security because it is beginning garnish, all because of this moblie home and I tried to do what I though was the right thing to do after a major hurricane.

Just not fair that Vanderbilt can take advantage of a very poor person......I there is a person out in this world who can help PLEASE DO SO, PLEASE.....I am at the end of my rope and that rope is getting shorter every day.
