Our family purchased a double wide mobile home July 1999. We were told that the land went with it. We later found out that the land belonged to the man who lived behind us,and we had to pay lot rent to him. He and Vanderbilt led us to believe that after two years we would be buying the land as well. We did this for six years. We had property in Greensboro that was paid for. My husband mentioned this to Luv Moblie Homes where we purchased our house. This was OUR land.

April of last year we were told to move by the man we paid lot rent to. No warning. We had been paying one price for our home, and they Vanderbilt kept raising it without notice. We asked them to help us find somewhere to put our home or refinance it. They didn't. The moblie home company said they would help, then they lied and said they never siad that. Vanderbilt then sent us a letter saying that they would refinance us. They then said they wouldn't.

So we tried to sell our land. We couldn't put our home on it because it wouldn't perk. Vanderbilt put a lean on it. They did not have my husbands or my signature on the papers as they said. WE had a lawyer go over everything. There was no way they could prevent us from selling it. We did sell it. Not for much though. Prior to this, we became approved for a 200,000 dollar house...not trailer...a real house. Then VAnderbilt sends us a letter of approval for refinacing. They can just bite one. I would not recommed them to anyone buying a moble home. They are sneaky and they lie. There business practices are ALL WRONG. Thank you. Oh yeah, they are trying now to sue us for the balance, their balance. WE paid over $40,000 for our home and they want $40,000 more. They sold it at auction for $17,000. What is wrong with this picture?
