In reference to some of the other postings on Vanderbilt, I am quite sure that the bulk of us take full responsiblility for our mortgage debt. Does that indeed mean that we have to fall prey to their unfair tactics? Is is a rare individual that at one or more times in their lifetime, especially with a term of 30 years on a home loan that doesn't hit a glitch in road and get behind or need assistance.

I certainly fit that bill myself. My mortgage was first held by associates housing, they sold to vanderbilt, which I guess doesn't surprise me, originally tried to go after them, for forged documents. Since then I had pursued another unrelated suit with the property that my house was on (undisclosed landfill) I emerged the victor in only that I was able to "sell" the property back to owner-realtor. Vanderbilt agreed
to letting me remove the Double wide to another location, a property that I paid CASH for, Vanderbilt leaned on it. My mortgage was never reduced by the original property amount and restructured for the new lot home pkg. that I now have. My mortgage payoff remains the same, so as the new property didn't cost as much as the old property, and i paid some back into the principal, wouldn't that seem appropriate to reduce the original mortgage debt by that amount? I don't know if the property description has changed on the mortgage because I can't get any paperwork from them. Okay, house moved, new lovely property, hanging in there, new city, new construction costs, live without electricity and running water for 4 months, okay, making mortgage payments, common law husband leaves household with 5 children, I got behind. Delt with that, borrowed money from family to pull us out of the hole. Vanderbilt does not make this easy, from harrasing phone calls, threats, threatening children who answer the phone, if there mommy doesn't make this payment they won't have a home for christmas, to why can't you buy a car and get a d**n job, (ex-took family car), to closing my account so I was unable to western union, had to get a bank check and fed-ex it, isn't western union just as fast? I have finally caught up...I remain however 1/2 month behind, which I was trying to get vanderbilt to pro-rate it for me so I could add a little everymonth to the regular payment. No dice. Now, to add insult to the injury, they have suddenly come up with (over the last week) that I owe them 36 additional dollars for my homeowners insurance through them. I have had my homeowners with them from the get go, and now after 8 years, I havn't been paying the thirty six dollars a month over the original mortgage for in homeowners they are threating to forclose on me...I was told this morning that I had 24 hours to pay up...the representative laughed, and said it was out of her hands now. I requested paperwork or a statement showing the increase, and asked, if this wasn't an issue in the past then did that mean that my home had not been insured all this time? She refused to answer. I also asked that she not call my place of employment least of all to harrass me for 36 dollars, after all they did tell me to get a job, do they not get it? This has got to be stopped, I am surprised that with all of these postings and all of the people that have had similar experiences with this company, that we have no leg to stand on. I have not once recieved a monthly statement from Vanderbilt, nor a coupon book, I don't even recieve interest paid statements. I have a grave feeling, that there is embezzlement and way over our head "money issues" going on here. I think that I am an easy target for them as well, having had personal crisis and getting behind has put me on the top of their list, not to mention they hold an orginal 168,000.00 mortgage note on a different property and leaned on my free and clear property. boy, if they forclose on me theyv'e got a hell of a deal huh? I'm quite certain that they are bad dealings here. Please Help those of us who indeed have issues with Vanderbilt, whether or not we have a "trailer" with land or have had personal issues which make us more vulnerable should not even be part of this big picture, we ARE victims because try as we might to do the right thing, and hold on to what we have aquired Vanderbilt sees some of us as targets, I think that is relatively obvious. Their inability to cooperate with an individual and resort to verbal and demanding threats is intolerable, and the lack of business ethics is intolerable. What is it going to take for all of us in this vanderbilt section to get noticed?

To Ripoff.com, Thanks for giving me this space to vent and get reaction, and hopefully be heard.

What can one person do

AUTHOR: Melissa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 24, 2006

Hi Beth/What can one person do

Hi Beth I really appreciate your response, it sounds as though you at least have vanderbilt on the run, with an attorney on your side, some of us are not as fortunate. I did however check out this Kelly person, wouldn't you know it, they wouldn't let me talk to her...she is most likely homeless, and or unemployed. go figure?
I wish I could do something not only to rectify my problems with Vanderbilt but everyone elses, I am sorta at a stand still, the state of NM says continue paying....for what? When I am current the hit me with these unknown amounts for default/without documentation....I still in eight years, even with both states involved have not recieved any paperwork or clarification from Vanderbilt. Mr. Buffet should get on the stick.
Anyone with suggestions? I hate to roll over and die after 8 years of this, and I would be homeless...with my 4 children and the dog and cat>

Best to you all
Melissa

VANDERBILT, THIEVES WARREN BUFFETT NEEDS TO HAVE IT STUCK TO HIM

AUTHOR: Beth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 24, 2006

Melissa, I have to agree with your comment to Kelly. I call to ask for a Supervisor or a Manager and all I get is harassment. I have fallen on very hard times, I had two homes and had to give the mobile home up in bankruptcy. It was not easy for me, it was very difficult and affected my health. But I got one over on Vanderbilt, they sent me a letter to put my home up for "private sale" after my attorney notified them.

Vanderbilt is now in the process of being sanctioned by the courts. I filed a complaint against their attorney with the State Attorney Grievance Board for unethical practice. He tried to serve me when I had a stay in place, I filed harassment charges against the process server as well. I have not heard a peep out of their lowlife scum attorney since mine let him have it.

Actually, my attorney told me I can sue them when I come out of bankruptcy. As I said, this was a very difficult decision for me, my husband and I lost over 1200.00 a month in income. No one ever wants to get to that point but we don't need to be talked to with contempt and sarcasm and that is how Vanderbilt conducts their business. I too have filed complaints with the State of Tennessee they are just as bad, I asked the rep if she was laying in bed with them as well? I haven't received a response yet....

update info

AUTHOR: Melissa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 17, 2006

in direct response to kelly who is responding to several postings. Just to update my personal situation, I was eventually caught up on my mortgage, I have currrent reciepts for payments, withholding increased amounts because I asked vanderbilt to provide me with proof and statements from the inception of my loan, which they did not do/I now have a default pending against my home for a dollar amount that does not match my payment for the month of june which i have a reciept for.

I refuse to speak to anyone because Im tired of the abuse, and the field rep was out to my place this morning, I didn't answer the door. I am a single mom of six, and I'm tired. just what is it that you are saying kelly that if we call you you can help all of us? I personally think you deserve an atta girl for stepping up to the plate, but, why? I have been after this company for 8 years, and still I have nothing, and still I have my home...interesting huh? I admit, I have had personal problems that have prevented me from making timely payments, but I have always managed to catch up and some. again, I have in eight years, never recieved a statement or a payment booklet, I just keep sending in money...does that sound right to you all?

At any rate, I have had communications with the state of nm insurance and regulations and also the state of tn insurance and regulations consumer division. Whats up guys? families are being destroyed homes lost and children left homeless, for the sake of what? A corporation who is trying to cover their A.. This is a multi million dollar fraud here...but for us that are struggling for whatever reason will be left out, because for us its reality. Managers, associates, they are non exsistent at vanderbilt, every one of them will address you with the same disrespect and disregard. to them you are just a paycheck.

Vanderbilt Mortgage holders: Website-vmf.com
Another scheme? New online payment option. put account number and social...thinking okay now more outrageous western union fees, time lapses, etc. Well, wouldn't you know it... unable to make a payment at this time... call customer service...why? Wondered if anyone else has tried to use this service? At this point I'm guessing it's just another way to get you to call in for abusive phone tactics, or to stall the consumer whereby creating late fees and penalties.
