The internet sites, does the pre-qualify, then you go into your TRUE story, then their salesmen lie and say come in, you are pre-approved, then you come in for atleast 4 hours, and are shown EVERY car that is NOT what you requested and twice the price of what you want. THEN they say you are DEFINATELY qualified for the overpriced car (showroom, of course) they say they don't have in stock what you wanted and can't get it.

Then then send you to sign the FINAL papers where the guy (supposed finance manager (later to find out sales ASSOCIATE), adds a ton of things to the contract you say you ONLY want gap. They tell you that you have to have all or nothing. Then when you say nothing, they say "oh, let me see what I can do for you" Then they hand of tons of papers to sign (with all the extras) telling you that you are signing off on NOT having them.

In reality they just signed you up for them. In the end you are paying 59,000 for a HONDA! They odometer is in reality 400 miles OVER the sworn paper they give you, it pulls to the right, etc. After questioning and confirming over and over again that I was TRULY financed, the 3rd day I went and picked up the car to THEIR urgence that the car is mine and financed. Period!

Two weeks later they call and say bring the car back. I have a signed contract by me and by them. An atty. reviewed and said valid contract and to them to get lost. Finance manager from another dealer calls them and the person who has been swearing to me that he is the finance manager, and to bring MORE money in (even though the HONDA payment already almost 800 a month) would now REALLY get me financed.

The contract said they had me financed through American Honda Finance and how much payments were and when due due. IT WAS ALL A LIE! They had never even contacted AMF the first time. Now, they want me to bring the car in, get a lesser car and bring more money and then they will contact AFH.

They said they FORGOT to hand me a piece of paper with the 20 pages they handed me overselling me. The paper they forgot to hand me was a conditional addedendum to the contract. Who knows if this exist. Now, the guy saying he is Finance Manager (Mike Mata) is telling the new finance person he is a sales manager.

VANDERGRIFF HONDA did nothing buy LIE, and commit FRAUD from day one.

Unless you want to have your time wasted, I get the run around and lied to, I advise you STAY away. Their are alot of legitimate Honda dealers in the metroplex. I got the first story from their Chevrolet lot, so I am assuming ALL of Vandergriff's lots on the service road get the same trainging to commit fraud.

Also, you might want to do internet searches. I wish I had. As you will see there are SEVERAL people with the same bad experience with VANDERGRIFF.

Vandergriff Honda Opperates in a Legitimate Manner

AUTHOR: Tod - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 29, 2008

The customer filling this report is an internet shopper, who is not seeing the BUSINESS side of a very reputal business.

When a customer submits an internet inquiry, it is directed to an internet manager who will work with them. If they are looking for car X, then the Internet Manager will try to locate the vehicle in the inventory. Wether or not they find it, it comes down the this, A) Tell the customer you don't have the car, and a loose their business, or B) Bring them into the store, show them the closest vehicle you have to their match and if they like it, have them buy it, otherwise trade cars with another dealer to get the vehicle.

The problem comes in with Option B, as most Internet Shoppers are reffered to as "mooches". This is due to the fact that they wish to have a vehicle at cost and are completely against the dealership making a profit. The case in which this customer claims "Paying 59,000 dollars for a HONDA" is completely inaccurate as well. Customers with perfect credit can only financed 140% of the any given vehicles MSRP. So for the most expensive vehicle, the 2009 Pilot Touring, MSRP of about $35k, the most you could finance would be $49k(35,000 X 140% = 49,000).

On the other hand, things like Gap and warranties are not covered under the 140% rule, so unless this customer purchased $10k in warranties(the highest i have ever seen was $5k), then there is ABSOLUTILY no way to finance $59,000 on an Honda.

Now lets fast forward to past finance. The number one complaint for Vandergriff Honda is with Finance due to customers having to return vehicles because the financing was not "complete".

I an given dealership, they have primary and Secondary Lenders. They provide the dealership with structuring criteria for a car deal inorder for it to be financed with them. There is alot Grey area in there depending on the persons Credit report, and the loan officer from the bank that is handeling the deal. No dealership makes money having customers turn their car back in because the deal could not be financed. Infact it cost us MORE money because we have to clean, gas, and reinspect the car.

In short, this customer had a bad experience, but if we can't get you financed at Vandergriff Honda, NO ONE CAN!

Sincerely,
The TOD
