Since my investigation has revealed (Plus the word of reliable informants who you know quite well) that there has only been one employee named with the first name of Melanie to ever work for SPECIALTY MARKETING. That means you are the wife of Chris Putnam, the past owner of CORNERSTONE MARKETING. This also means that you are the sister-in-law of Jennifer Kathryn Putnam Buffington the current President of SPECIALTY MARKETING.



You have now freely admitted to the entire world, that you were an employee of SPECIALTY MARKETING. Hopefully this will afford you the opportunity to once again meet with Harold Kirtz(Attorney representing the Federal Trade Commission) and also Jennifers Attorney in Atlanta, Michael Rosenthal once again.



You state that SPECIALTY MARKETING has either refunded or warranted a total of $90,000.00, as of September 26, 2007 the total was only $87,000.00. This is a lot of money for a company to warrant, which has only been in business for a little over a year. With an annual Gross Income of between $1,500,000.00 and $2,000,000.00, I guess this is possible, one can only assume that Jennifer Buffington has the records required by the Internal Revenue Service to verify these claims. I do know for sure, that I am not one of these the people (of which there a many) victimized by Jennifer

Buffington and SPECIALTY MARKETING who received a refund or any type of warranty consideration.



On September 13, 2007, report #274417 was posted by me claiming deception, fraud and unethical practices used by(SPECIALTY MARKETING) to sell vending machines purchased from Multivend VendStar(President- Ned Weaver,Vice-President-Joe Spinilli?,Customer Service RepresentativeLarry Kaplan) At approximately 3:30 pm, the day of this posting , Ned Weaver contacted me regarding this report. We talked at length about this report and the practices of SPECIALTY MARKETING and what this company has done to the reputation of VendStar. Mr. Weaver in no uncertain terms advised me that he was not aware of the fraudulent practices of Jennifer Buffington, her company, employees or field representatives. Mr. Weaver decided for the sake of his reputation personally and the reputation his company that he should do something on my behalf. I signed a settlement agreement with Ned Weaver and Vendstar, which he felt was the right thing for VendStar to do in the sake of CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. I am not allowed because of legal issues to disclose the amount of or the terms of the agreement. This can only be done by the order of the court. I will have this agreement in my possession on November 30th for my court appearance before Judge Simmons in Beaufort County, SC, just in case the Judge orders the need to see this document.



The second week of October, Mr. Weaver contacted me and advised me that due to the information that he had received not only from me, but countless others in reference to the unethical business practices of Jennifer Buffington, and some of her family members. On behalf of Ned Weaver and VendStar wanting all to know that there reputation in the vending business was important to him and his company. I voluntarily posted a report on October 17, addressing this issue as per my telephone conversation with Mr. Weaver.



Mr. Weaver advised me that Vendstar would no longer be recommending in the future( Jennifer Buffington, SPECIALTY MARKETING, or any of the Putnam family members) to represent his company(VendStar) in any capacity in the future, that had been involved in the vending business .

Melanie, you are absolutely correct. Thru the Court in the STATE OF ARIZONA, it is possible to find out who has posted on this web site any information that is nothing but lies and cannot be verified with documents to prove what has been stated. Prior to my pending counter lawsuit filed against your sister-in-law, I will follow the (DENDRITE GUIDELINES) and (Code A.R. S. 12-2214) to obtain this information. First off I figured I would let everyone here know that I have found yet another person that this lipid induced person has sued, his own wife. Can you post an update as to where you are in the legal process. I am also a customer of Specialty Marketing and have had a similar experience in dealing with them as you have. I am hopeful to get in contact with you to talk in more depth. I sent 2 previous rebuttals. The first one came through with an email address displayed. However, I mistyped it. I sent a second rebuttal but the corrected address was censored out. My address should have had the current year (yyyy format) right after my name. Can you try and contact me? As far as Vendstar they are arrogant, rude people just from what I heard from so many people. I called them up a couple of years ago and wasn't impressed.



I have been on here quite a few times and let me mention that those machine deteriorate faster than some of the other machines. Can you make money! Absolutely but it depends on locations. I am based in the Phila area and let me say there are many locations but it depends on who you know.





Now I was reading somewhere about locating contracts they mean nothing. The locating companies get a listing as well as zip codes of what areas to hit, then they hit so many places and get them placed as fast as possible. That is how they make their money. I was with a private locator. He even told me but the problem is majority of the companies who send someone out know what they're doing but you the customer gets screwed over so therefore Vendstar don't want to answer anything.





s**t I could go out and locate better than some of these know it all.



This business takes time and effort. Some people have it and some people don't. Does it get frustrating. Yes it does.

Posted yesterday for all to read, the decision made by United States District Judge, Patrick Michael Duffy. (Federal Trade Commision v. Cornerstone Marketing LLC, Sidney Putnam, Carol Putnam, Christopher Putnam, Melanie Putnam)



Jennifer, I find it ironic that all of the complaints and accusations made by me and many others, are all addressed in this legal document. The only thing different is the company name, but this changes so often it's hard to keep up with. Since you refer to locators as field representatives; independent contractors; and the latest, you identify them as your salesman, this is also difficult to keep up with. Hopefully soon, I will have the opportuniy to ask Sid Putnam and Brad Buffington, when they are out in the field working for Specialty Marketing, WHAT THEIR TITLE OF THE DAY IS!!!!!!!!



Jennifer, the great thing about the judicial system in The United States, we both have the undeniable right to have witnesses and documents entered into evidence, thus proving the validity of the complaint. In Bluffton I have to prove that my accusations are true beyond a reasonable doubt. In Myrtle Beach, the burden of proof is on your shoulders. The person who tells the truth wins. The person who lies under oath, not only looses but faces the possibility of being incarcerated for committing perjury.

I became aware of this web site only after my association with David Wren, business editor of the Sun News, here in Myrtle Beach. He wrote a full page report in the Sun News exposing the Jennifer Kathryn Putnam Buffington SCAM. David Wren uncoverd many things that I was not aware of, but they are now included in my evidence documents.



I filed a lawsiut in Magistrate's Court in Beaufort County, SC, in July--court date pending. In retaliation Jennifer filed a lawsuit here myrtle beach against me for Libel and Slander. Evidence she presented to the court to file; letters I wrote to the FBI & IRS, she did not include letter to the FTC (Specialty Marketing Case #11053354-wonder why?), copy of newspaper article written by David Wren, letter I wrote to her attorney in ATLANTA?--still waiting to hear from him, example for libel and slander ( she included a case history dating back to the year, 1707--involving dispute over ducks and a pond!!) She even went so far as to make up a ficticious business name for me, so she colud file a complaint with the BBB in Conway, SC--have you ever heard of Chuck Machado's Vending--neither have I or anyone else I know.



Let's see John, what have you done to help yourself and others? 1) You have posted your opinion of what you think of Specialty Marketing, Vendstar, and me.

If you will note in both reports, I have provided enough information for you to contact me. So far I have been in contact with 14 other VICTIMS of Specialty Marketing and Jennifer Kathryn Putnam Buffington. Anthony A. from Cedar Park, TX and I , allong with others have spent many hours talking on the phone. They have provided me with many documents--which have been submitted to the; FBI, (FTC--Specialty Marketing --Case #11053354) IRS, BBB, both Gov. of TEXAS and South Carolina.



So far, I can only assume what you have done is this. In your last paragraph (A MASSIVE VIOLATION OF FTC LAW) Do you have any idea of how much documentation and public involvement it takes to get any of the agencies involved? Of course you don't, but all of the other vicims and I do--this is what we as a group are trying to do!!! There is a lot more that we can accomplish, but we all need the help of other victims like yourself. STOP COMPLAINING__GET ON BOARD AND DO SOMETHING.

Thank you Chuck! I lost a total of $23,000.00 dealing with Jennifer Putnam Buffington and friends. I had two 3 way phone conversations with Mike Bell (All American Vending ... now closed down from violating FTC requirements), Chris Putnam (at the time going by the name Cornerstone Marketing) and myself in which Chris Putnam promised me $2.50/day per head (I bought 4 headed machines). I ended up purchasing the machines on this false information. Jennifer Putnam Buffington was working as a dispatch person. She set me up with a locator that she claimed was the best. I had to wait 3 months for the locator to show up ... then 3 days (She would call that morning and say she was on her way). Once she showed up it was obvious that all she wanted to do was unload my machines in any place she could ... she was rude, would not accept 'No' for an answer and placed from 1-4 machines per location. I received 30 of the 52 machines she placed back within the first 2 weeks. People were complaining that they never agreed to it (let alone 2-4!), someone just left the machines, etc. etc.





This locator was also telling everyone that the machines she was selling were much better than the machines we already bought. I believed her because they claimed she was the expert and bought $3,000.00 of her machines (she got commission and $50.00 location fee per machine). Jennifer confronted her on the phone (while I was sitting in the car with her) about selling machines to other people ... she side stepped the question ... Jennifer had to believe her because she is one of her biggest volume locators. ANYWAY, the whole situation was nothing more than a con. It was obvious right away ... the locator comes into town every couple of months ... she places machines right next to the last remaining 5 machines I have out in the field. What a scam!

Many of your statements are true, however, your about-face regarding VendStar dramatically decreases your credibility. Surely you're more intelligent than this:



- Dennis directs you to Specialy where they promise x amount of vends per day - breaking F T C law blatantly with their verbal and written committment.



- YOU buy from VendStar ONLY BECAUSE SPECIALTY MARKETING guaranteed a great return. Not because you like dull, grey, plastic gumball machines that also work well as life rafts in the event of a flood.



- You didn't go to Ebay and buy them for $50 per - absolutely new -



- You didn't, in your amazing background in law enforcement, know anything about FTC law



And VendStar is not the bad guy here? Let's see, Specialty made about $10 profit per unit (if that) off of you. VendStar, with there very efficient injection molding plant made about $200 profit per unit. Specialty marketing has been (before there was Cornerstone and VendingDreams) VendStar's favorite lackey as of late. VendStar uses locating companies to increase sales over competing biz-ops. This way they can have another company break the law for them - and guess what? GET THE SALE! The rich get richer!!!!



So Chuck, you cut a deal with VendStar. VendStar rolls another locating company under the bus................ Surely, Chuck... You expert law enforcement guy you.. You could of figured out what time of the day it really is? Instead of going after the multi-million dollar biz op that uses the "locating lackey" scheme to get away with promising revenue (A MASSIVE VIOLATION OF FTC LAW) you go after the locating company. Genius. Gosh, those nice folks at VendStar couldn't ever of known what Specialty Marketing was up to.



My friend, I have little doubt you where bought out. Congratulations good citizen!

At this time, I wish to retract all allogations, I made towards MultiVend (Vendstar)as a company. In my anger and frustration concerning Jennifer Putnam Buffington, T/A Specialty Marketing, I insinuated that Vendstar was responsible for the business practices of Jennifer Buffington,Specialty Marketing and her field representatives. This was not my intention and I want to set the record straight.



I pre-judged the company (MultiVend) on the basis of communication with only 2 employees; Dennis Danielle, a sales representative, and Larry Kaplan, the customer service representative. Dennis , because he recommended Specialty Marketing and gave me Jennifer Buffington's phone number (866-403-5859). My experiences with Larry Kaplan was both positive and negative. POSITIVE EXPERIENCES; 1) A call to thank me for the purchase of the Vendstar 3000 and that if I needed anything in the future to call him on his direct line.After the shipment arrived, there were several cannisters broken and a small spring was missing off of 1 of the machines. I received the items within 3 days. At a later date, one of the keys broke off in the lock and a new key was shipped immediatly. This is great customer service. NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES:He lied to me, stating none of the company employees would ever recommend a locating service.He advised me that this was the responsibility of the customer, and that I should read my Vendstar contract more carefully. 2) Challenged me to write a letter to the Better Business Bureau and then hung up the phone (not very professional). To this day, I am not sure, that I would have written the letter, because all of my complaints told to Larry, were directed to Jennifer Buffington and Specialty Marketing.



I am pleased with the vending machines and have had no serious problems with them. They are easyto maintain and clean. After I placed the machines ( No thanks to Jennifer Buffington and her so-called experienced,professional field representatives), My wife (Linda) took over servicing the route. She called on each business every 2 weeks, and had to relocate many machines. The machines are light weight and not bulky, this made it easy for her to relocate them.



I feel that it is important, not only to give the NEGATIVE facts, but the POSITIVE facts as well. Many time we forget this and dwell only on the negative experiences. My conscience is now clear. From this day foreward foreward, I will direct all of my energy and any legal means available to me; to put Jennifer Putnam Buffington, and the Putnams who are still involved in the vending ( Jennifer will deny this--but what else would you expect) OUT OF BUSINESS FOREVER!!!
