My family Plan contract ended in October 2005, the last week of October my teenage's phone was stolen, I reported it 4 days later as soon as we relized it was stolen. I had paid insurance on the phone.
Verizon did go back and only charge me for the time we had the phone. But the next month, charge me for phone and the calls that was made on it. They never turned it off. Then told me the only way that they would take the phone off was if I agree on another contract. I told them that I didn't want another contract.
Even though I was paying for my phone, they cut it off. So I was was left with bills for two phones that I could not use.
I agreed to new contract IF they would take the stolen phone off and send me the phone they had on sale. My phone, before they cut it off, was giving me trouble. After they agreed they would, they still did not take the stolen phone off, nor did they send me a new phone. They did turn my old phone back on, or they said; by now my phone did not work.
After I did not recieved my new phone, like I ordered. I sent an email to cancel the deal. AS I was permitted to do so in the contract, without any charges. I had two weeks to do this. After two weeks I finally got them on the phone and again I told them to cancel. They refused and kept billing me.
I refuse to pay, after 4 months, they finally change the plan from family to single. They had ran my bill up to nearly $200 then refund me for the stolen phone. Which they applied it to the bill.
I never recieve any money from them for the stolen phone, I cancelled the contract within the limit it stated, they agreed that they would only charge me if they change my plan from Family to Single and that they would send me a new phone (that I never recieved). This was the verbal agreement that we had, that I agreed to. I never signed a contract with them. They broke the agreement that we had, I even told them that since they was forcing me into a contract that I didn't want that I would only agree if they kept they promise which they did not.
Now I have this bill on my Credit Report and I'm told it will cost me $1500 to have it removed or I have to wait 5 years.
