Verizon Wireless Verizon Wireless ripoff. Cancelled service within 14 days, waiting 4 months for refund Atlanta Georgia

BEWARE OF VERIZON WIRELESS!!!

I signed up for a new Verizon cell phone. It allows for a return of the phone and cancellation of service without charge or penalty if done within 30 days. Due to bad reception, I returned the phone within 14 days. According to the contract, I am suppose to get a refund for the full amount minus any calling charges that I may have accumulated while I had the phone. That was in January.

It is now May and I still have not received a check. When I call them I get a different excuse as to why I haven't gotten it yet.

The first time I was told that they need to be sure that all of the charges have been listed and deducted before a check would be cut. They keep a running toll of your account. They know what you owe when you call.

Then the story turned into "We are still processing the data for this account before we can close it". By then they had already assigned my phone number to somebody else!!! Whatever "data" they are processing is for somebody else's phone!!!

Then the story turned into "Well, it takes 6 weeks or so to process a check". It's funny how they had no problems processing MY credit card and that they manage to continue to send me monthly bills showing a negative balance!!! And it already had been 3 MONTHS!!!

Needless to say, don't waste your time or money. It is completely a scam and they can get away with it because they are a big company. Do yourself a favor and just stay away!!!
