I moved 1 1/2 miles from my previous address, Verizon would not let me keep the same number. So I asked for the same service with a new number. Simple enough?

No way, could they handle that. I have received notices in the mail to call them at least 4 different times in the last week and a half, over problems with the service. They say they can not reach me on the phone, although they have my home, work, and cell numbers.

So, I attempt to call them and each time I have had to wait over 30 minutes to talk to someone who assures me everything is fine. And then, I get yet another notice in the mail.

I attempted to call them this afternoon and waited 45 minutes and did not get through. I came home and tried to email customer service through their web site, and it will not let you submit your comments, although I used all the proper proceedures.

If I had a choice for regular phone service I would leave them in a heartbeat.

Well, the original post really didn't specify exactly what service was unavailable.

I forgot that verizon offers residential phone service as well as wireless.

I do not have or want a home phone, I only use cellular. And I was talking about Verizon Wireless who has fantastic service.

It helps to give exact information in any post to avoid these misunderstandings.

To Al; Verizon does give me anything I want. I have been with them since day one and have had personal and business accounts with them in several states.

I have NEVER had ANY problem with Verizon.

i have the exact same problem with verizon customer service, an hour for anyone to answer the phone , then they hang up on you while your on hold prompting another hour of k-mart music and waiting, then they send you to support, and then they promise to make amends , then you never hear from them and your dsl order still never arrives, Steve in Bradenton don't know what he's talking about, probably on some verizon special silver spoon list , but its nowheresville for the rest of us, there is no complaint department , because they are not intrested in hearing your or my complaints, we're just nobodys after the bill is paid and i am still searching for a real person at verizon to complain to, please email me if you ever find one , thanks al-x in tampa fla still waiting for new dsl cable for third month

....as a few things do not make sense here.

I have been a Verizon customer since they got into cellular, which is a very long time.

Before you moved, were you a Verizon customer with an active Verizon service?

After you moved, was your account still active, and did you move to a Verizon service area?

What I mean by Verizon service area is NOT "extended network" coverage, but an area that Verizon can establish new accounts.

I have never had any problems with Verizon that were not immediately resolved. Even when I was the one at fault they always took care of me.

I have NEVER experienced 30-45 minute wait times for Verizon customer service. NEVER.

I have lived in 4 different states and had local verizon accounts in each and was a 48 state/OTR trucker and found the Verizon network to be the best overall coverage that can be found. I have used ATT,Sprint,T-Mobile and some you never heard of, and always kept Verizon.

I presently have 2 Verizon accounts here in FL with no problems, and when I call customer service, I am usually speaking with someone in under 3 minutes.

I think your claims are both vague, and exaggerated.

I still don't see the Rip-Off here.
