I brought my Dog for Surgery to Sheridan West Animal Clinic. In the past, the clinic allowed me to pay for services in two installments. This time, they requested that I pay half prior to surgery. They did not disclose that I would need to pay the remaining balance, in full, post surgery. They did not have any signs hanging to that effect nor did I sign anything explaining that.
When I came to pick up my Dog, I was going to pay half of the remaining portion and then the other half in 2 week, just like we did a couple of months ago. They refused to allow this. They refused to give me my Dog and then called the police. I stated to the Ofiice Manager and Dr. Bieber, over the telephone, how I felt. They proceeded to call the Police.
Before the Police came, I paid the balance and waited for them to arrive. The Police agreed that the Business practices of Sheridan West Animal Clinic was and is less than ethical. My Dog currently has surgical staples from the procedure. Sheridan West Animal clinic refuse to remove them citing that I was "abusive and threatening". This is hardly the case. I was very calm but frustrated. I made no scene and even the Police Department thought this was a waste of time on Sheridan West Animal Clinics part.

I am the Hospital Manager of Sheridan West Animal Hospital and would like to mention several facts that "violated" fails to mention.
I've already had to photocopy documents, take pictures of our signs and write a response to the Better Business Bureau because of "violated's" false claims so I will try to keep this short and to the point.
He fails to mention many facts:
How he cost us money by failing to show for one scheduled surgery appointment and then showing up the 2nd time, unprepared to pay for the BOUNCED CHECK (that he also failed to mention or how it took him two months to make restitution) or the surgery.
The loud, foul, threatening and abusive language that he used when angered that we expected him to pay for the services rendered.
The fact that he is the one who claimed we were not going to give him his dog back if he didn't pay his bill and then he even stated that we were going to "f*ck up his dog".
That he became so angry after talking to Dr. Bieber, that he threw my phone down on the counter.
The fact that I warned him several times that we would call the police if he did not stop yelling and cursing (maybe he didn't hear us since he would not shut up).
The four other witnesses that were present during his tirade.
The fact that I myself explained to him on three seperate occasions, prior to the surgery, that he could no longer pay by check and that we needed to be paid IN FULL at the time of pick up, by cash or credit card. AND that it was also explained to him by our surgeon, Dr. Gerald Johnson.
That when he arrived to pick up his dog, he immediately pulled out his check book!
Also, apparently, "violated" has poor vision as there are TWO signs in our hospital that state that payment is due when services are rendered. Apparently his poor vision also came into play when he signed three seperate forms on three seperate occasions, also stating that payment is due when services are rendered.
I would love to know the name of the police officer whom he claims made those statements about our hospital. Oh, maybe I didn't hear them since they only got to speak to Mr. Violate in the parking lot as he was making a beeline for his car (not waiting for them as he claimed).
We also did advise "violated" that he could have another family member bring the dog in for the staple removal OR he could go to almost any other vet clinic and they would remove the staples at no charge as a courtesy (just like we do for other animal hospitals). We stated that HE was no longer welcome in the hospital. Again, he may not have heard any of this as he would not stop yelling. We copied his pets records and sent them to "violated" the following day in a certified letter and wished him well.
Please feel free to visit our hospital at 12109 Sheridan Street, Cooper City, FL 33026 and view for yourselves our signs (that supposedly don't exist) and view our standard forms that all clients sign when dropping off their pets.
The nerve of us expecting to be paid for services rendered! That is so unethical of us!
