Villa De Palmar Flamingo Resort Universal Vacation Club Bait and switch scam San Diego, California

While in Puerto Vallarta we attended a timeshare presentation at Villa de Palmar Flamingo Resort. After the tour we opted not to buy. We were then moved to an outside table to get our promised gifts but were first offered another sales pitch. They offered for $1497.00, 2 weeks at the resort (one summer and one winter week). We were also to receive a membership in what appeared by their description to be Interval International for a period of ten years. We were not receptive so they upped it to 15years with the ability to book 10 vacation stays and pay only the maintenance fee ($199 to $699/wk) depending on the particular unit size. We were also to be given access to their network for booking airfares at 50% off. This sounded pretty good but weren't convinced until they told us that they would buy back the most desirable winter week since they are in high demand. The salesman said that they would give us $1200.00 for this winter week.
They brought out the paperwork and rushed us through signing so we could get on with our vacation.
Later, we found that the paperwork stated a 1 yr membership not 15 and it was not for Inteval Intenational. After calling their toll free number, I was told they know nothing about a 15 yr membership and there was no way they would buy back a winter week for $1200. We haven't tried to use a week, but I'm not confident that we will have much success. I'm sure glad I didn't spend any more than I did. These guys are crooks!!
