The Village At Seeley Lake apartments Promised a discount to military, di not fulfill, gave old carpet and charged for it getting worn out and falling apart at the seems, instead to responding to my dispute to BBB, sent my bill to collections less tn 45 days after vacating the property. This is why The Village at Seeley Lake in Lakewood/Tacoma Washington managed by Equity Residential is a rip off:

2010: I was promised a 5% discount for being military using automatic payments, however upon moving in and signing the lease, was told I didn't "qualify" for it, even though I am in the army and was stationed here.

2011: a man tried sneaking into my roommates window with a camera recording her while she was changing clothes at night.  Vehicles of mine/roommates and of friends had break-ins/hit-and-runs while the Vilage at Seeley Lake claimed to have 24/hour security person monitoring the place

Mar 14, 2012 a man claiming to be maintenance raped a woman in daylight.  The Village at Seeley Lake claims this is a safe place for women and children.

March 2012: Upon moving out, I was charged $850.00 dollars for the carpet, even though the carpet was used, I lived in the apartment for 2 years, and the carpet was falling apart at the seems (glue came undone).  No mention of the carpet needing to be replaced during the pre-inspection.  No manager or worker did a post inspection with me upon moving out.

After I got notice of the bill, I requested a verification of proof that I owed it, and the manager ignored my phone calls. Sent a written request via email, and did not hear back. Submitted a complaint to BBB, they didn't respond to the complaint.

45 days after moving out the bill was sent to collections. Told collections I dispute the bill, and requested proof of it, however the Village at Seeley lake did not respond.

I now have a bad mark on my credit because this company failed to communicate properly, lied about its services/discounts and evaded my phone calls/emails.
