this company (vinalert) advertises free vin report for your vechicle, then says only $3.49. Well how is that free? then under the $3.49 charge is fine print that they actually charge your account 22.90. then they tell you if you have any problems to call this number-1-855-vin-alert. you see the problem? too many letters in alert. the number is a fake. call it if you want. so after all that good luck getting your money back. now you will have to file a report with your bank, try to collect charges, get a new credit card, what a hassale, but they don't give a s**t. they got your money!

VinAlert refund policy is easy

AUTHOR: vinalert - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Dear customer,

There is no need to make a complaint online. VinAlert sells their products through clickbank and they are like paypal excep that they offer 60-day money back guarantee.

To get a refund, all you had to do is go to clickbank.com and open a refund request. I am not sure why you called our voicemail box. all the information is on our FAQ page and in the payment confirmation email (which also has a link to request refunds or get the products).

Thank you

but this is common practice for businesses using a catchy name for their phone number(s).

The actual # is 1-855-846-2537 and the remaining 8 doesn't mean a thing.  The telephone equipment ignores it completely.  When the switching equipment receives the 7 digits, for local calls or the 10 digits for LD calls, it completes and ignores anything further.  The 1 at the start of LD calls just tells the equipment to expect a call to be routed out of the local exchange and that 10 (at least), digits follow.  Try dialing these types of numbers and pause before dialling the last digit...I assure you, the call, if the number is valid in the first place, will complete.

You may or may not have been scammed, but "too many" digits in the alphabetical phone # is not an indicator of a scam.

Before you tell me I don't know what I'm talking about or am lying, I spent 30 years in the telecommunications industry, primarily on the switching office side.
