I have been victim of a fraud of 18200 USD, with a Company of Charlotte NC. The company is : vintage airstream LLC (I think but I am not sure, as G Gibson never sign with this name) The sale has been done through the website www.vintage-airstream.com  , the manager and owner of this website  is Gregory Gibson, 4123 Hiddenbrook Drive, Charlotte, NC 28205, telephone: 704 566 1437. I have bought in February 2011, a vintage AIRSTREAM travel trailer on the website of this company. After exchanging many emails with G Gibson ( email of Gibson: elijah.g@juno.com), and have discusting the price on a selected and available (not already sold) trailer, on his website, I made a  transfer of 18200 USD from my bank to the Gibson account in the following Bank: SunTrust Bank, 101 South Kings Drive, Charlotte, NC 28204 , phone: 704 347 6089 . After a long time and without any news from G Gibson, I decided to call him, I insisted many times to have a copy of Trailer title, the bill of sale of 18200 USD and the timing for shipping. He never responded very clear to me, and only after many calls from me, I obtained him to send me 2 Bills of sale (see documents, one for the trailer 14000 USD and one for the shipping cost 4200 USD, for a total of 18200 USD).  But he never sent me the  title and of course the shipping date.  I had many times Gregory Gibson on the phone (704 566 1437 and 704 877 4180), but he always said, i am going to ship your airstream, but it never comes. After investigated on Internet, I found that the trailer (I think it was the one he sold me) has been sold from him on Ebay, 6 months before I bought it.I realised that I had been probably victim on a fraud. So I call Gibson and asked him , because he was not able to send me the title and the shipping information, to cancel the trailer buying and to refund me the funds (18200 USD). He never told me about the trailer already sold before, and told me "I am going to refund you the 18200 USD". He never did it.  After I told him that he scammed me and that I had posted a complaint to Department of Justice of NC, he quicly has updated all his website and marked sold on the trailer. After he stopped all exchange with me and gave me the name of his supposed attorney, but his attorney never responded to our letters and emails.

Update my report about vintage-airstream.com

AUTHOR: Olivier - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 01, 2013

We are on the good way to solve our problem with vintage-airstream.com web site owner. We are on the good way to solve our problem with vintage-airstream.com web site owner. A mutual incomprehension probably related to our differences in perception, behavior in business and linguage, in our respective countries, has made us very suspicious towards each other and very anxious about the sale transaction. But after talking about the problem between us and our respective reactions analysis, we found peace, solution and confidence. This proves the honesty of both parties and the willingness to complete the transaction calmly. I asked the Rippof administrator to remove my complaint, but it does not seem to be possible. so I publish this development to describe and update the case. I shall update definitly the case at the end of the transaction., I hope very shortly.
