On October of 2006 we contracted verbally for Mr. Lockard to complete some electrical repairs in our place of resident. Because he was a resident in a surrounding neighborhood we thought that Mr. Lockard not offering a written contract was not unusual.

A month later, my husband and Mr. Lockard agreed to some requests which were changes in the services. We were not requesting heated lighting fixture in our standing shower, and an added lighting fixture in our master bathroom closet.

His first and only visit included ripping down the drywall and leaving 2 holes in our closet and walls. He never covered our wardrobe and left a terrible mess on the floor (drywall pieces, paint chips, etc.) and all over our clothes. I am pregnant which he was fully aware of and was never considerate to our requests.

It is now April 3, 2007, and he has yet to come and complete his work. We tried contacting him both email and by phone on 3/4/07, 3/5/07, 3/15/07, 4/1/07, 4/3/07. If and when he did respond which was via email he stated that he was out of town every time we contacted him and that he would complete the work. Unreliable, considering it has now been half a year.

We have been very unhappy with his lack of service. His is not a trustworthy business man. His company should not be in business. I feel much sympathy for any future clients that contact him for his "service". Please help us by spreading the word that his service, company, and most importantly his word are not honorable.

Thank you!

Home inspectors cannot repair defects!

AUTHOR: Jerry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 06, 2007

Under the Code of Ethics of the inspection organizations in existence, no home inspector may make a repair to a defective item noted in the report for a minimum of one year following the inspection. This avoids conflicts of interest.

I am guessing that your inspector is not a member of any of the 3 major organizations such as NAHI, NACHI or ASHI. Research them and if he is, report his butt. Also, most states also have similar Codes of Ethics if here is a licensing process. Once again, research (you can do so on the ASHI website) and report his butt if possible.
