On 10-1-17 I paid for and tried to download virtual shield, my norton antivirus stopped the process and said it was unsafe so I e mailed them and was unsure why it did this i wanted to cancel. They contacted me eventually and told me to disable norton allow virtual shield to download and then turn norton back on. This defeats the purpose of norton who I called to ask thier opinion and they agreeded as of yet it is not a tested platform in the norton community. I kept trying to get a confirmation for a refund as I never downloaded or used the product. On 10-2-17  I was emailed by Duane of virtual shield who told me about norton disable and stated on e-mail "Please let me know if you still like to cancel your subsciption". on 10-4-17 I recived an emailed from justin of virtual shield who said refund are not given when you get a 30 day free trial offer included under terms of service. Also note that a 20% discount code I entered of "ritchie" did not take 20% my payment. Mark la puente Ca.

Understand how software works PRIOR to foiling a BOGUS report.

Disabling antivirus is completely normal and recommended for almost all software installations.

I had decided to take it as education in the wallet

AUTHOR: mark - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 15, 2017

In response to your rebuttal in the old days you had 3 days to get your money back at the store 30 days amazon, ebay as well. I was unaware that this clause does not apply to the internet. The company rules if you read them do state no refunds, point of education for me. In regards to shutting down Norton I do understand this as well though it defaets the purpose of Norton as a product in calling Norton they could not say it was a safe product or not only that it is mostly untested by Norton users. I never downloaded the product I have never used the product nor do I recall pushing a button which put me on automatic autopay to Shield, Im sure this exists somewhere in the company rules. My purpose is to educate furture buyers it's not a try and buy affair if you are unsure of non vetted products by your antivirus program you should not buy. I also wonder exactly who this company is in general as at the point of my attempting to gain refund it was diffuclt to contact with no real backround info to be gleaned from internet. I have since not implused buy simply because Ritchie from Boston, William Mount or Leak project recommend a product. I do realize in mass marketing this concept helps sales but I digress In return to saying that this educated me from my wallet and who knows if I see more postive reviews on product I may use it however at this moment it remains not downloaded.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Dear Frustrated VPN Buyer

AUTHOR: Adam - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 14, 2017

I am a long time consumer of software products and manage IT networks in my vocation.   I was looking into Virtual Shield and found your report.

I think I understand the source of your frustration, you hoped to receive a refund after the product did not meet your needs.

Just for clarity and for others who might look up this product in the future, VPN software like Virtual Shield is intended to bypass normal internet protocols (very generic way to state this).  So, by design, a company like Norton (Anti Virus and protection) would have this particular software flagged as inappropriate.  That's because the VPN software you contracted to try and or buy could be a potential threat if you weren't the one to have initiated the VPN connection.

That's why the appropriate method for installation of any VPN product is to shut down any virus protection package you have and reinitialize it later.  That is the standard protocol for products like the one you purchased.  I am simply giving clarity so that anyone else attempting to purchase either this companies product or their competitors, will understand the install process prior to agreeing to purchase.  It is safe and normative.

Adam
