I've used VistaPrint at least 6 times in the past to get free business cards, mailing labels and Christmas cards. I've never had a problem until 11/05. I placed another order w/ VistaPrint to get free business cards. And just like I did the last time I ordered, I clicked on the survey to get $10 off my next purchase. Although, I don't know why. I never used the first $10 coupon I got.

In 01/06, I noticed a charged of $14.95 on my PayPal debit card from PassportVista. I went back through my history and found two more charged in Dec. & Nov. I hadn't used the card for anything since Nov. so I had no reason to check my balance, I thought.

I had no idea who this company was, so I did a search for them on google. This website was the first result. I never authorized PassportVista to use my card. I never received an email, phone call, or membership benefits of any kind from them.

Appartently, when I signed up for the free $10 offer, I signed up for whatever membership PassportVista offers. Although, I'm not sure why the first time I signed up for the $10 offer that my card wasn't charged these fees.

If you order from VistaPrint and the free $10 coupon pops up, just do like you do to every other spam pop up, close it. A scam artist like PassportVista probably won't honor the coupon anyway.

Yes, it's all the consumer's fault. We shouldn't assume a company will be honest and upfront. The only way a company can make money is to do it through a scam, right? I recently purchased more free business cards from VistaPrint and that pop up window for a free $10 rebate came up again. I read the "fine print" just to see what it said. I read nothing about charging money every month for membership to a club that offers no benefits.

#2 Consumer Comment

Regarding VistaPrint.com

I have used Vistaprint.com for years now with absolutely no complaints. Vistaprint is a site where you design your own business cards. So if there are problems with the cards it would be the consumers responsibility to verify that everything is exactly the way you want it. You even have to initial the proof before you finalize the print.
As far as extra unexpected charges on you card from affiliates of Vistaprint, be sure to read the fine print before you click on for anything free. Once I finish my proof and pay the bill via credit card I click off immediately. Usually what happens is affiliate companies will try to lure you in with free stuff through a questionaire about the service (aka bizrate). Then your locked in with extra charges. Just do the business intended and no extra charges will take place.

Money refunded

AUTHOR: Teriana - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 13, 2006

I used my PayPal debit card to purchase the business cards from VistaPrint. I filed a complaint and all my money was refunded by PayPal. I'll still purchase from VistaPrint in the future, but I will not click on their coupon offer with a novelette of terms and conditions.
