Want your data sold to the highest bidder? Want to be double charged? Want to be jerked around for 2 weeks even after paying $50 for "expedited service" for a single document? Want your faxes to be lost or ignored and then to be told you never sent them while holding the receipts in your hand? Want to do business with a company founded by an internet hacker and felon? Want to be be sent SOMEONE ELSE'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE? Want to aid and abet the destruction of personal privacy for BILLIONS of people? Then order your vital records through vitalchek instead of paying via mail. If you order documents through Vitalcheck/LexisNexis/Reed Elsevier your quest for vital records will cost more, take longer and be more troublesome than any experience by mail could possibly equate to. You will get tons of junk mail, bill collectors(for people with similar names) and even phone calls from Nigerian Internet Scammers within 21 days of doing business with these crooks. Don't give them your personal data, don't give them your credit card info, don't do business with them. They have used lobbyists and bribes to secure contracts with hundreds of government agencies and charge outrageous fees and offer horrible service coupled with privacy invasion and data scammery.

This is the most crooked enterprise in human history and you will regret doing business with them. Most people never know why they become the target of every scammer and shady bill collector shortly after doing business with these creeps but it's because they sell your info to anyone who will pay them even after charging you for access to your own personal documents. Want to be found by that psychotic ex-husband? Use VitalChek, want to have your credit tied to some deadbeat with a similar name? Use VitalChek want to be sent parking tickets from some city you have never been to and be threatened with an arrest warrant even when the name is spelled differently than yours? Use VitalChek.

Order Cancellation

AUTHOR: Learned a Lesson - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 27, 2011

Answer one question please.  When an order is placed erroneously, why can't it be cancelled within minutes of making it?  You have no phone number to call and only accept communication via e-mail.  Even after your company responded to the e-mail within an hour and half, you STILL said it was too late.  This reeks of being fraudulent and appears as if you only wish to force consumers under a time crunch to place another order.  You couldn't have anything in the way of automation that makes it so expedited that it can't be reversed.  How do I know this? The Pennsylvania Division of Vital Records told me that they don't get your request until the next business day.

Cite Evidence? How is that possible on a public internet consumer opinion site?

AUTHOR: MikeF - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, December 02, 2011

I am MikeF the disgruntled customer/victim of VitalChek (not a former employee or competitor), I just went through the VitalChek ripoff, privacy destruction, information peddling hell within the last 6 months ordering Birth Certificates for all 5 of my family members to get new passports for an upcoming vacation. ...................................I decided to research this shady foreign owned data mining hacker cartel after a horrible experience. I literally had just moved into a new home and hadn't even changed any of my documentation to my new address. I had a chance to take my family on an all expenses paid vacation to Costa Rica through my company. We needed passports which require certified copies of everyone's birth certificates from several different states. I paid $250+ for expedited service on all 5 BCs but then found out that I needed to get another $65 worth of notarized documentations faxed to them. I did so the same day and received confirmation after faxing them at the UPS Store one right after the other. VitalCheck denied receiving the faxes, I faxed them again at $1 per sheet with more receipts and confirmation pages for each from the UPS store. VitalChek denied receiving 3 out of the 5 yet again. they dragged their feet for over a week and then I notice on my bank statement there was a charge for a 6th expedited birth certificate order! They had charged me $300 for "expedited service and had not delivered a single birth certificate 10 days later! I got VitalChek CSRs on the phone on 4 separate occasions and they stone walled me and told me I was either mistaken or lying! I had receipts and FAX confirmation pages to prove what I was saying and they said "I don't care"! Can you believe that? Finally after 21 days we received what I thought was the last of the birth certificates except for one small detail THEY SENT MY WIFE SOMEBODY ELSE'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE! Granted she had a very common name and so did her father but holy mackerel this outfit is supposed to be qualified to handle the sensitive personal data of several hundred million people? So we literally contacted the county office that it was sent from, told them what had happened and they sent the final birth certificate themselves and told us apologetically the problem must have been with VitalChek and THAT IT WASN'T THE FIRST TIME THAT IT HAD HAPPENED!..................... So there we were after literally being abused and treated like bums after paying hundreds of dollars but finally we had our documents in hand and then about a week later we noticed something, WE WERE GETTING JUNK MAIL ADDRESSED TO US EVEN THOUGH WE HADN'T OFFICIALLY CHANGED OUR ADDRESS YET! Then my wife received a parking ticket for a person with a similar name from a CITY SHE HAS NEVER BEEN TO! We hadn't changed the address on our DLs yet, we hadn't put in a change of address at the Post Office because we already had a PO box and our old house which was for sale hadn't closed yet. The only possibility was that either the utility company contacted a smaller city 1400 miles away and told them to send someone else's parking tickets to my wife or VitalChek had done it. Ever since doing business with vitalchek my new home's mailbox is filled with junk addressed to me and my wife(we only use our PO box for official mail) and the phone number we used when filling out our document requests is getting telemarketing calls when I never received them in 6 years of having that same phone number. I am firmly convinced that VitalChek sold my information and put us into databases that marketers and podunk government agencies in South Carolina are subscribed to and I was very pissed off so I decided to do some research on this outfit and it was a real eye opener. My personal information was part of a money making data mining racket where government agencies, corporations, debt collectors, private investigators, lawyers, universities, hackers, crackers, Nigerian internet scammers could all pay a fee and subscribe to have access to my family's personal data! And what's more the founder was a criminal hacker! Look up Olatunji Oluwatosin to see one of hundreds of thousands of incidents where this cartel of data crooks has let the most sensitive details of our lives become available to con artists! They are used for profiling and background checks but mislabeled thousands of legitimate voters as convicted felons in-eligible to vote!......................People are wrongly denied jobs, loans, even put on the No-Fly list and denied the right to vote based on the crooked data juggling shennanigans of this heinous group of data thugs and criminal privacy invaders............. I suppose I should count myself lucky after merely hitting a few speed bumps and being defrauded out of some outrageous fees for horribly slow service because my research quickly showed me the horrific possibilities of letting VitalChek,Choicepoint,Reed Elsevier,LexisNexis get their grubby rat claws of your personal data and credit card info.

VitalChek rebuttal

AUTHOR: VitalChek Network, Inc. - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, December 02, 2011

VitalChek Network has been made aware of this complaint review, and we would like to rebut the claims made by this person and/or request that this review be removed from your site. It contains false information regarding our company's founder, claims of deliberate efforts to defraud and spam our customers with junk mail, in addition to a claim that we have used lobbyists and bribes to acquire contracts with vital records agencies. Other claims are made that our customers will be sent someone else's information, that we may give out personal information to other callers that do not have rights to that information, and that they might also receive spam phone calls as a result of their transaction with our company.

This review cites no evidence to support their claims, and we believe that this post is either the work of a single upset customer, a disgruntled former employee, or it may be a competing business. Since this review also cites no individual experience on the part of 'MikeF' (the user associated with this post) and rather a compilation of issues that are both false/exaggerated, we would ask that Ripoffreport.com take appropriate action to contact the user that posted the review, and obtain either evidence of these claims, or to retract the statement, by their action or by yours if the user does not reply.

Thank you,

VitalChek Network, Inc.
