Vitran Express Richard Chrisinger Refused to pay for Damaged equipment shipped by their company Illinois Nationwide

I contacted Aslan Hajivandi 800-716-7608 x 1018 with freight center and scheduled a shipment of some equipment.
I was quoted a price and agreed on it. Freight center then contacted an independant trucking to pick up my equipment ( vitran express) I was not aware of the company that would be shipping my equipment until after the equipment was picked up.

Upon arrival of the equipment, the equipment had $1,580.00 in damages and vitran express stated they would not cover the damages stating that equipment was packaged improperly. I stated prior to pick up that the equipment was to be palletized and I was told that would be acceptable by freight center (brokerage)

I explained multiple times to Vitrans that this was not going to be acceptable and that when a trucking company receives a shipment then they are accepting responsibility. The still refused the claim.

I now have to file a suit in court to reclaim my funds that Vitrans refused to pay. This is a very simple situation. They accepted my equipment, damaged the equipment and should pay for the damages. That is what insurance is for.

Do not do business with this company! They try to use loopholes to get out being responsible for their actions. I have read on multiple other web sites that this is common practice for Vitran.

Meanwhile I have to go to court and battle on a very simple situation. It will be clear Vitran is responsible.
