 We visited this store whilst on a holiday to New York. My friend bought a phone from the shop and all seemed fine. After cash was paid for the purchase the shop assistant or manager asked for a credit card and explained how this would be used to promise that we wouldn't contract any services from the competition (at&t) in a space of 180 days. He explained thoroughly that the card would not be charged at all, only if we were to break these conditions (which we haven't). They said that my friends card wasn't accepted so I offered mine, on returning from the US i found that $499 had been taken from my account on that same day. They have done this to many other and will carry on doing so if action isn't taken, they seem to only do this to tourists knowing that they will go home before realising the situation. They also have no valid contact number or email address.
