My husband and I live with a friend in Salt Lake City. She recieved her current months phone bill and was puzzled by a new charge on it for 14.95 from Voicemail Direct USA. She called them to find out what it was about. They told her that her room mate ( me) had charged this service to her bill and that I was authorized to do so. She asked them to call her back on her house phone ( she was using her cell phone) so that we could all discuss this charge. They agreed to call back immediatly. We waited for 20 min and realizing they were not going to call us back, called them back. We spoke to Christine Morales who said she was a supervisor. We explained that there was clearly a mistake, We had not ordered this service. I explained that the only thing I have infact requested from the internet was a credit card offer.

It was then that she revealed that it was cleaverly hidden in what appeared to be a entry into a sweepstakes!! We explained as well that we had not utilized this service in the time they said we have had it so we asked if she please remove it from our bill. She said that it would take several billing cycles to correct. The way she was conducting herself and her evaision not to mention her absolute refusal to give me the name of the company owner when I requested this info now makes me wonder if in fact they will do anything to correct this. We have many resources here in salt lake one of which is a local news reporter very skilled at consumer protection. I'm strongly compelled to call him tomorrow. Judging from the several complaints dating back about a year on this company I can see that I am not alone or not the last.
