Herb Gordon Volvo Lack of Integrity and refusal to honor three year warranty Silver Spring Maryland

Tried to get warranty work on 2010 Volvo wagon.  Car was out of state (Spokane. Wash) and son was told tohave it fixed at the dealership it was purchased from.  Experienced brake noise on tirp across country and was told by Herb Gordon car salesman that the car was beyound its third year warranty Miles 48,170 miles) and they would not cover the problem without even looking at the vehicle.  Went to the nearest repair shop (Firestone) and was told one rear caliper has frozen and inoperable and the rotor on the other side was too damaged to turn or use.  Firestoe requested two new rotors from Don Beyer Volvo who sent the wrong rotors.  Firestone returned them and did get one but it didn't have the hole drilled for the brake fluid line and had to be returned.  The car was undriveable and could not be put back together and operated, so Firestone rebuild the caliper with the frozen piston and replaced theexcessively worn rotor on the other side.  I complained to Volvo of America to get a refund on parts covered. but was told since the work wasn't done at a Volvo dealership, they would not cover the cost of the parts.

This is my fifth Volvo and Herb Gordon and Don Beyer both have spoken with "fork" tongues.  Of course no one at Herb Gordon's sales staff will admit to refusing service and everyone else has the shoulder shrug exercise down to an art.  While Volvo is a usually quality vehicle, I have yet to have an honest dealing with the Don Beyer Volvo dealership in Northern Virginis or with Herb Gordon in Silver Spring, Maryland.  Even Fairfax Volvo in Virginia has declined in integrity with the current managers telling me that the Volvo I bought in Sweden would not be serviced by them since the sale was done via Swedish Overseas Sales Department.

I has been my experience that Volvo dealers in the U.S. have adopted the reputation shared by all used car dealers -- a lack of integrity and general dishonesty.  My advise is to just buy American or German and let Volvo slowly die a slow death as more people experience the erosion of the American dealerships regardless of the manufacturer. 

How truly sad that some dealers will ultimately be responsible for less and less manufacturers because of their greed and lack of integrity.  I will never buy another Volvo in the U.S. nor any other vehicle sold by Herb Gordon's, Don Beyer's or Fairfax Motors and I will warn all who will listen of the perils of trusting those three dealerships and their personnel.
