Vonage Vonage is a TOTAL RIPOFF, DISHONEST, CHEATING, LYING, INCOMPETENT Holmdel, New Jersey

We signed up for Vonage almost 2 years ago now. After 2 years of extremely POOR call quality, foreign customer service agents reading from prepared scripts sounding like robots and frequent telephone down time we called to cancel our service. Much to our surprise we were under a 2 year contract we did not agree to and there is an "early cancellation fee" of $49.99 to cancel prior to the 2 year period. Now our bill is already paid for the month so we have no problem waiting the extra 21 days to contact this crazy company on October 29th, however, I am here to tell you this company is the biggest ripoff I have ever seen. First, we did NOT at any time sign or otherwise agree to a 2 year contract nor did we replace any equipment in the meantime obligating us to a 2 year committment. Secondly, I have been advised after requesting to speak with the 4th individual there is "no one authorized to waive the early termination fee" and it is impossible to be transferred to any authorized person (ie there isn't anyone authorized to even ADDRESS this ripoff). Third, this company cannot see the forrest for the trees and I clearly advised them I intended to let other potential customers know unequivocally that this company is a dishonest, imcompetent, Un-American, ripoff. They didn't care. Sign up for Vonage service at your own risk. Fortunately, we are within 21 days of our alleged contact period. Vonage refused to even discuss the issue during 2 lenthy attempts to get customer service.
