My problems with Vystar begin back in May 2012, after being a member for almost 10 years...... my checking account became overdrawn....I called and asked Vystar to close my account....the repersentative told me my account had to have a positive balance before it could be closed......not having the money to correct the issue until my payday....I felt somewhat at ease seeing that I had never had a problem with Vystar in the past.

On June 18th 2012, my pay posted to my bank account bringing it current.... I made two calls first to verify that the negative balance had been brought current....after speaking with CSR....she did verify that my account was now current and what my balance was after the charges had been taken.....I asked when could my account be reopen....she said not sure but if it was her decision she would not reopen my account given my activity over the last few weeks.......I became terrified....so I told the CSR I would call back later....after thinking the situation for the rest of the day.....I decided to close my account....Around 6:40 I call and closed my account....at least that's what I was lead to believe...the CSR told me my checking account had been closed and the remaining balance had been transfer over to my saving account.

On June 23, I signed online to check my saving account balance.....Well this was the beginning of my problems with Vystar Credit Union....not only was my checking account still open it was overdrawn more then $320.00 again this time not my fault...On June 24th I called and asked why was was my checking accout still open.....I was told there was no record of my checking account ever being closed...I was like are you kidding me not only was checking account suppose to be closed the CSR also order me a ATM card...I even gave my new ATM card number.....I asked if they could listen to the call of the person that placed the order for the ATM card....I was told unless I knew the young man name....my checking account would not be closed but remain open.....I called manager after manager and spoke very calmly to each one of them but to no avail....I was in total disbelief.

My final idea was to write the bank President and asked if he could review my account...but you guest it no answer......I pleaded almost begged for help but... not one single reply....not only is my account still open it is.....overdrawn more then $2500... NO! I didn't write worthless checks....my bad situation was made worst....becuase of one simple request... CLOSE MY ACCOUNT.... I'm sur my account will be sent to collection Agency for money I don't rightfully owe!!!!

I've come to the conclusion that no bank, credit union, or finance company care to amit whenthey've made a  mistake.....own up to it a hanous mistake was made....Unfortunely Me the customer  will have to paid for it.

I'm sorry but this story makes no sense

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 23, 2012

You start off by saying that you noticed a problem in May with your account being overdrawn. You acknowledge being told that your account could not be closed until you had a positive balance.

You state that you got your pay deposited into your account the middle of June and that it was now current. You don't say anything about closing this account when it was current and then start asking about re-opening an account that was not closed.

Are you trying to tell us that because of the apparent problems with your account that whoever you talked to about closing your account froze it instead so that no more activity could occur?

Were you told by the CSR that they did not have the authorization to unfreeze your account without approval from someone higher up?

I see you closed your checking and had the money shifted to your savings. Did you have any outstanding checks? What about automatic withdrawals for bills? Why were you ordering a new ATM card? Was that at the suggestion of the CSR?

If you had concerns about your checking account having unauthorized transactions then why didn't you go over these transactions with someone from the bank or even better file a police report?

When you opened your account did you provide any kind of code word (an extra security measure)? I know that Vystar has this additional security option that no one there will take any actions (ordering checks, closing accounts, balance inquiries, etc) without that word or phrase.
