We moved and requested our checking account be closed.  Unfortunately they did not close it and they made payment of $5.95 for an unauthorized charge.  We disputed the charge, a rep verified that it was fraudulant, but we continued to receive an overwhelming number of calls.  We kept repeating ourselves, then they would say they couldn't talk to me.  Sometimes they said they could only talk to my husband because the charge was on his card (although I'm the primary card holder). My husband called and couldn't talk to anyone.  This continued for nearly 3 months. I made ofters to pay the darn $5.95 even though it was their error, but they would have to remove the $39 overdraft. They would not budge.  I would get calls back to back within minutes and up to 10 calls a day.  Most often I would accept the call and talk to a rep.  I would talk to reps 5 times in the same week and one day, I answered and spoke to reps 3 times in less than 30 minutes and had the same conversation.  After that point, I figured why talk to them anymore. They won't work with me and after I discuss the account, they would say they couldn't discuss the account.  If they couldn't discuss it, they why do they keep calling so I finally disconnected my phone.  I figured they would finally write off the amount since it was so small, but no, they sent me to a collection agency and now the $5.95 has grown into $100.  This is absolutely ridicousl.  Any suggestions from anyone? I tried to pay the $5.95 (even though it was fradulent, but due to principals I don't feel charging an overdraft due to their fault was appropriate.)
