WageWorks COBRA Administration is the worst COBRA administrator we have ever dealt with.  We have struggled with them for almost a month trying to get a web access problem resolved, trying to get our medical insurance carrier update resolved and now trying to get our dental insurance carrier eligibility resolved. We have had numerous COBRA administrators in the past and had have no problems. Avoid this company like the plague and call your Congress person at the first inkling of a problem.

Web site access: It took over six calls and two weeks to resolve a problem with an error message: "Error 1115" that we got after trying to register for web access for our COBRA account.

Carrier updates and communication:  WageWorks COBRA customer support will not let you talk with their eligibility department.  WageWorks will tell you that an eligibility update has been sent to the insurance company but when you call the insurance company they do not have anything on file.  We have demanded "rush" and "urgent" updates to be sent and only after the sixth request will it be done. We have wasted over 30 hours of time trying to get this company to do a simple job.

WageWorks COBRA refuses to call the insurance carrier to resolve an issue.  So, we had to call the insurance company and then conference in the supervisor from WageWorks to verify our eligibility.  Well, this solved the problem for a few days until WageWorks sent an update that incorrectly canceled the eligibility for just the dependent.  Subsequent requests to have this corrected have resulted in no correction. We have been told that a correction would be sent on the 14th and as of the 17th nothing has been sent. WageWorks blames the insurance company when in reality they caused the problem, are lying about it and will not fix the problem.

This company is a ripoff, they are incompetent, they are liars.  You cannot email anyone, you cannot speak with anyone in the eligibility department and they will not call the insurance company to fix the problems they cause. We will be filing a complaint with the Department of Labor and we suspect they are in violation of the COBRA regulations. Next week we are contacting our Congressional representatives to solicit help. Perhaps a US Senator can do what we cannot.
