While researching and browsing big screen TV,s to replace the old behemoth in my living room, I believe I walemon Amazon.com site when a bar slid out with some seemingly good prices on similar TVs. I clicked on one showing a 60 inch Samsung Plazma 3D Smart TV at what seemed to be $200-$300 or so less than other sites or Amazon.com.

the web site looked very professional, with good product descriptions and "best sellers" listed with clickable links to their descriptions.

I put this 60" Samsung Plazma in my cart, and got an email back with instruction on how to get free shipping and no tax. I was called off to work though and had to leave for around 9 hours. When I came home, it seemed I had timed out, but I saw an email from WaitWat.com, welcoming me, since I registered with them.

i emailed them back Al's I was worried I had lost this supposed "great price" I thought I had found on the TV. I did get a reply again, to go to Amazon.com and purchase this online gift card, copy and send as  a PDF, or just reply to their email with gift card code.

that should have been a red flag, but I thought, like many merchants, this WaitWat.com must affiliated with Amazon.com. So I did it. Received several professional looking emails with order confirmation and then another that my order had been shipped, and I should receive it around the 14-15 of February.

Then  few days later, I tried clicking on the link to my order, which worked for the first few days, but now went to an error page. When I tried clicking on their web site, it now goes to a site saying their site is undergoing a rebuild and shows a page with that it should be back in 2days 10 hours. It's stgone and hasn't changed.

looks like I was a bit stupid and am not usually a big Internet shopper, and probably won't be much more.

I did report this to Amazon.com and received some forms from them requesting info about this, which I have filled out anem sent back to them...no other word yet.  And have spoken with an Amazon.com customer service rep. Seems I'm not the only one that fell for this "WaitWat.com/Amazon.com Gift Card scam."
