Well, I would rather buy walmart brands than name brands in foods. Personally I can not taste the difference. I was never fired for mentioning the Union. I was paid 7.15 an hour and I did not whine that I was making $9 an hour. All of the united states only pays $5.15 minimum wage so why should walmart be different and pay big bucks? Starting is only $5.40 where I live.

Seems that is more than minimum wage. All you people do is whine that you don't make more money and that you are slaves. I liked working at Walmart. It is better than some and worse than others. Its a job.

I am female. I did not get special requests because of it.

My manager was always friendly and did not treat me like a dog or slave as it was put.
We always had benefits if people were safe thruout the year. What are you doing? Spilling stuff and falling onb purpose?

I had problems I went to management. Easy as that with no problems.

Seems I had normal hours. I worked 130-1030 Mon-Fri? Lsat I checked those were normal hours.
For the most part I was part time so I did not get sick leave. Poor babies. Not everyone even has sick leave where they work.

Funny, I worked in Layway and always did what was needed. And every 6 months I got my 25 cent raise.

9 X 40 X 4 = $1,440.00
Take Home = $1,296.00 (less taxes (abt 10%) only, not 401K)
Mortgage = $600.00
Elec bill = $150.00
Water = $50.00
Gas = $50.00
Phone = $30.00 (no long distance calls)
Cell = $50.00 (rural for long distance)
Cable = $40.00 (no HBO or Prem Channels)
Dr's Appts = $20.00
Gasoline = $100.00 (minivan - rural area)
Food = $400.00
Clothes = $50.00 (goodwill or other "thrifty place")
Total each month is: $1540.00 on a paycheck of $1,296.00. And these are conservative numbers.

Obviously the poster who said $9 was a livable wage, wasn't trying to live on $9 an hour. Yes it would be easier if I had a spouse/girlfriend who was helping with the income, but if you live an hour from the nearest metropolitan area and wally world is the only employer - then what can you do.

You get stuck in the "spin" cycle and it probably won't be until the kids are gone that I will be able to afford to move. I am also not about to relocate them while they are in high school. Even then, the difference is only a couple of hundred dollars a month and as you can see, that doesn't really make a whole lot of sense in the above scenario.

So, to that poster who said $9 was livable try it from the trenches.

I live in Iowa and had been employed by a telemarketing company for nearly 4 years. In that time, I had witnessed horrific displays of the facilities that we had to use as a women's bathroom. Everything from overflowing toilets, fecal matter, blood, and other things left in a nearly overflowing toilet for several days, and so on. My friend and I had called OSHA and they told us that there was nothing that they could do about it, unless it (what was in the toilets) had been there for at least a week and no one took care of it. It was there repeatedly for several days at a time, not quite a week, but still, I personally don't feel comfy using a bathroom in which that type of thing exists in the stall next to me or fecal matter had been smeared on the wall. And, all the while, they could get away with it as far as OSHA was concerned, because it was there less than a week. So, as far as Wal Mart is concerned, if OSHA is the same for every state, they may or may not care. Hopefully this helped someone.

Who is going to pay our salaries ? YOU the retard customers. We buy our stuff from China, Bangladesh, and any poor country that we can buy an item for a peny and sell it for a buck you add 5 cents for other expenses then we have the profit of 95%. the quality is very bad but you don't care and we tell you that "we sell for less" and you believe it. To make sure that we take advantage of our Slaves, on of the requirements for you to be able to be hired here is you must be an retard. We accept morons, imbesiles, dorks, goons and donkeys as well. I would like to invite you to come here to our store and meet my favorite slave, Brian. He has been with us for over 10 years. He can not read or write and he chews snuff. Nobody can dispute that Wal-mart is the biggest ripp off of retailers. They do indeed have the SLAVERY in place. let's face it you get $8.50/ hour then they cut your hours so you get paid like $5.30/ hour then if you are on thier expensive insurance, and other benefits(another name for rippoff) your take home is around $3.00/hour. The prices are very high and the quality is very low. Each store has a manager a co-manager 6-7 a*s. managers, depending on the size, there are between 12-20 depat. managers , accounting manger, recieving manager, Claim manager, ICS manager,HR manager, UPC managers, night managers, 3-7 CSMs. then the rest are stockers and cashiers. so 80% managers and 20% p-ons. that's why the prices are so high because of the high overheads. I am suggesting that we, before going to wal-mart, check the prices on other stores first. you would be amazed that how much you can save but not going to wal-mart.

Maybe you should take a look at yourself before you start calling others retards. Instead of listening to an uneducated co-worker, try taking a look around the world today. I work at a walmart in luberton NJ store number 2841 its a really good store. i always get paid for my over time and i am never asked to work off the clock. My store mgr is a really nice guy he is aways asking his employees if there was anything he could do for them. I am a cashier and i like working for wal mart.

Wal-Mart is so successful because they act professionally as a business. It is the nature of business, however, to take advantage of its workers in order to maximize profits.

We've had a supercenter here for years already and we have nothing but praise for it. It is always clean and orderly. The employees are always, and I mean always, polite and cheerful and helpful. So many people come from out of town to shop at this store that it has greatly benefited other businesses in our town. Not to mention the property taxes we collect on this store. It all helps us out quite a bit.

first, let me tell you, if you are really desperate for finding a job then wal-mart is the place, otherwise, look somewhere else. Those bastards get you in very cheap like 8 bucks an hour. if you are full time and you are a young female and willing to entertain, you might be ended up working 30, otherwise 20 is normal. I work at 1766, started a month ago after being laid off from my hi paying job. I met Ron who is gay, but he hang out with an ugly, smoker, and foul mouth l*****n name Julie. She is one of those mobsters that get a fat paycheck and does not work. I met accounting department b***h Nancy and she is indeed very fat and ugly. She smokes also. Once in a while, I work at the Garden center as a cashier. The Department manager's name is Heath and I don't know how he does it, but he takes 4 hours lunch break everyday. His wife supposed is working at Health and Beauty department but she is never (and I mean NEVER) there. Then there is a door greeter name Duddley. I was told he started at 12 bucks. Nancy at HR, is a very evil chracter. Her husband and a doctor created a fake illness and ripped off the insurance by thousands. They told us that he has cancer. finally Bob the a*s. manager that is a true con artist. he used to be an insurance salesman. and finally, some fake employees that nobody saw them, they just collect pay checks. I don't think there is anything legal going in this store. It is indeed run by mobsters. about the prices, well if Kroger sells a can of dog food for 72 cents and walmart sells for 84, who is selling for less. Or if K-mart sells a bottle of bleach for ONE buck and wal-mart sells it for $1.12, of course wal-mart "sells for less". I have a discount card that gives me 10% off for selected Items, one time I went to a super-wal-mart at woodstock and bought my regullar grocerie items that I usally buy ar Krogre, guess what, the amount was $3.45 more than if I would buy it at kroger and that was after that funkey 10% discount I recieved. Wal-mart is truly the ripp off store.

I worked in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Ohio. If you open your mouth with a complaint or an opinion you get put on the troublemakers list and they try and run you out. Ron is my boss and he is very powerful. he has a very good connection with the hier ups like Jack the district mamager. there was an old metriarch Carla that was too crazy and we kicked her out and sent her to woodstock store. Now the new metriarch is Kathy in recieving. She has her own schedulling and her own way of stealing and corruption which is 100% approved and supported by Ron. The rummor is that she gives routine blow jobs to anybody that Ron sends to her. She gets the biggest bonus year after year and the biggest raise too. her husband Joe is a gay pimp and brings young gay boys for Ron, some of them ending up getting job in this store. to have a balance in number of p-ons, when the order comes from Ron to hire one of his gayfriends, we have to come up with some strategy to get rid of one or two of the p-ons that are in Ron's s**t list. we the a*s. managers under the guidlines from associate relation's GOD, Mis Stewart, draw and execute a plan for getting the guy fired. I remembered a guy Jim, full time employees with a college degree, was downsized and forced to take the job with us. He was very intelligent and very good worker with the best common sense. They gang up on him because he did not accept s**t from those mobsters. the customers loved him because he was very helpful and very knowledgable about many things and the location of the items in store. Ron, Mark(the a*s manager that went back to east-west connector location in cobb county GA) Carla the maitriarch and his son Jarred, Heath the L&G dept manager and his wife Lauren, and Miss Stewart the associate relation manager, got the most elaborate and sophisticated plan to get him to do something that they could fire him. The thing is wal-mart does not want to pay the unemployment benefits. He got fired and they were successful not paying the unemployment. Come to our store every three months, you see 80% of p-ons are not the same p-ons you saw three months ago. Most of them leave because thare is too much s**t been throwing at them or just too smart for those mobsters and Ron to handle so they get fired. About 50% of those staying 20% are mentally retarded and the other 50% are the mobsters, pimps, and whores. WE the managers make good money under the table and have a good sex life on the table. - There is a assistant manager name BOB that nobody like him. He is the ultimate butt kisser and a true live satan.

- The Garden center's deptatment manager is the girlfriend (his name is Heath) of store manager Ron. He sometimes acts as the pimp of his wife and arrange her with some of the managers. They have been there for about 5 years and they come to work as they please and get the most over times even when the rest asked to cut their hours. Heath is known for taking 4 hours lunch breaks.

- There is a recieving lady name Kathy that does make all kinds of deals with vendors, it is known that they leave some items outside so her husband, Joe comes and take them and sell them at flee markets.

- Once in a while they donate huge amount of pet food to a(!!!) charity. The deal is that the lady at pet department supply free pet food to her friends and family.

- there were several occasions of breaking in and huge number of items were stolen. in one occasion one of the trailler's door left open and the whole contents were gone by next morning. The rummor is in all occasions BOB(the a*s manager) and Heath(the dept. manager) were the ones planned and executed the action.

- Ron the store manager, is the Godfather of the mobsters and gets the cut. He is gay and his boyfriend's name is Jack, the district manager.

- I could not find anybody that was happy working there. some secrectively told me that thay steal to compensate for their hours being cut.

- Some of the workers called Ron and Bob the little Hitlers. They also told me that Duddley is the Nancy(HR manger)'s husband's secret boyfriend. When you start working there the rate is $8.00/hour but Duddley started at $12. It pays to be a crook at wal-mart. I agree 100%. Another thing, next time thinking buying something, first, visit those $ stores first.

I went to store 1766 to see with my both eyes and if I could interview some of those called slaves because all the things said about this company and particullarly about this store were unblievable. going from the front door, the greeter Duddley was so evil looking that I almost peed in my pants. Some stores are terrible and some are okay to work for. That's just the way it is. I think some assistant managers will work WITH you and not try to be ABOVE you and some will do the exact opposite. I worked at Wal-Mart 1914 and there was an assistant manager that had this mentallity: if she treated us like her kids, we would be more obeidient and would work harder. Not the case, but in a way, she had good intentions. She wants to get the job done and to get it done right. Doesn't mean she wasn't a pain in the a*s though. I suggested that there be two zoners in my department on weekends because come midnight, the zone wasn't done and I don't believe it was me. I work as hard and as fast as I can and on the weekends, you get customers asking you questions, asking you to get things for them, you get floods of people and then they call you to the registers to help out. When the truth be known...the price has been $140.00 all along.

Then comes the overtime. By the way company policy (It's in you hand book and posted by the time clock) you are paid for every minute you work for the company. Even if you are off the clock and help a customer you make out a time adjustment slip. Because you have to be paid because you are doing something that benafits the company. I like these rules.

Yes indeed they cook thier books. At store 1766 in Marietta Georgia, some employees worked 90 (+/-) and others asked to cut the hours, all full time employees.

The check that beeing cut for the one woth huge hours being shared by managements. That is nothing but mobster action. And the fact that nobody from accounting question that, is another way of cooking the book.

You can skin the cat many ways. The guy works 30 hours gets paid for 90. gets the check, cashes it, took his portion and bribes the big bosses with the rest. to even out the expenses and keep the profitability to it's level, they ask the other p-ons to cut the hours or else, or after they punch out the very friendly mobster asking them to do him a favor and to work a little bit longer. So the book shows 10 employee worked 400 hours and the related totals which will be sent to main accounting office.

Do you think that the auditors look at the each detail lines ?. They think that they are smart enough to hide that big iceberg under the water for long. Just when you go to the any walmart store, and there is nobody but some cashiers, that indicates 1- the clock still running for the 90 hours guy(s) 2- and the rest have been sent home.

I interviewed a guy that was fired, he told me one of the tricks they played on him was, they asked him to wrok on his off day and he was promissed that he could keep those hours (overtime). couple days later, he was asked to stay home, He did brought that issue up to the management and you still wonder why he was terminated ?. I'll be note-ing more. We will get them big time - We the people.

I don't know if this was a regional issue or a national case, but there was something in the paper recently about Wal-Mart getting dinged for not paying overtime. I think they got a big fine. Sorry, it was a few weeks ago and I don't remember all the details.

Let me start by saying, I really don't like to shop at WalMart, unfortunately, their becoming a monopoly where I live. The only think I've seen as a customer is, their employees being rascial towards customers. (White or Hispanic).

By calling the upper management mobsters, doesn't really attest to your comments. You really need to look the word up. The upper management should be told as the "Corporate Slackers." Or something on that line. But mobsters, unless they're shooting you for being late or something stupid like that, they can't be mobsters.

As to your pay, $9+/- isn't poverty level unless you have 10 kids. That's actually better than most companies pay. All companies management will always get the praise and the bonus's. It's unfair, but that happens everyday to every employee of every company.

I don't really know, by what your report reads, if you're truthful or just a poed former employee. If these things are in fact true, you should do the following: 1) Contact OSHA, they take any/all complaints seriously. 2) Contact you states Attorney General, they can do an investigation into what you've complained on your report about. Of course those things I've pointed out don't have any merit to hurt a company, but things like discrimination, "Cooking" the books and OSHA violations are serious and do hold merit.

I don't know how Walmart's hiring process is in your state, but I do know that in mine, they do violate personal rights. I was hired by them about 10 years ago and refused the job, when I was tolf that for their drug test, I would have to go in front of the manager I would be working for. Gross!!! How on earth could anyone have respect for an employee or manager after that. This is still their hiring practice here. So I do think you're speaking the truth on most your alligations.

If you can support just one of those claims you should contact the Wal-Mart Home Office anonymously through a letter to the presidentthe claims are that serious. Go to the Wal-Mart web page and send one. If you are concerned about being identified go to a library or cyber cafe and send it. These are issues, if truthful, the Home Office should know about.

I would especially like to know what proof you have that a corporation that size is "cooking the books." That is unless you work at the home office and have access to the income statement. I would imagine that if you have the proof to support that claim you would become even more famous than Enron's whistle blower.
