On 05/19/2007 I purchased 4 new Goodyear Viva 2 P195/65R15BW tires. replacing my Mitchell in tires that had been purchased from Sam's Club. My car was in perfect driving condition with no vibrations or handling problems at all. The only reason for the tire replacement was due to tire ware and number of miles on the tires.
After having my new Goodyear tires mounted, and balanced by Wal-Mart Tire & Lube I drove home around 18 miles via rural roads never exceeding 55 miles per hour. I did not get an opportunity to drive much that week and never above the 55 miles per hour. At the end of the week my wife and I had to make a trip to Fairview Hts., IL to do some shopping at which time I had to drive on Interstate 64 which runs east and west across Illinois. I got on the interstate near my home and after reaching the speed limit of 65 miles per hour the car shook so bad that it actually made my arms and hands hurt after the drive to our destination and back to Mt. Vernon, IL where we took it back in to have it looked at my Wasl-Mart Tire and Lube.
I asked Wal-Mart Tire and Lube to check the balance of the tires hoping that the problems was a missing or improper balancing weight, or possibly a bad tire. After being at the store several minutes I was called back to the Tire & Lube service center where I was told and shown that all 4 of my rims were bent.
I filed a claim and was promptly contacted by Claims Management, Inc. from Bentonville, AR by a case manager Holli Sworski. After doing as she asked and giving her all the information about what had happened and even going to a local automotive shop to verify that the rims were in fact bent she contacted me via telephone informing me that they were not responsible or obligated to cover this claim.
This leaves me with 4 custom chrome rims on my custom PT Cruiser which I have taken pride in keeping in tip top shape and even went to the added expense to purchase the custom Chrome " Smoothie" wheels that have been on the car since shortly after it's purchase in 2002.
When I was shocked by the news from Ms. Sworski I told her I had no choice but to continue to seek repair or replacement of the rims due to it being unsafe and the fact it would wear my tires out prematurely from this damage at which point she told me very bluntly that it was up to me and do what ever I wanted but they were not responsible.

No training in the Tire department

Only once have I ever used the Walmart garage to get tires put on a vehicle. Before they even touched my truck I decided to go elsewhere. In the customer waiting area, you can see into the shop while they work on your car, and before they brought my truck in I saw how these incompetent "tire specialists" were installing tires and wheels back onto another car. This employee sets the rim back onto studs and then threads ONE lugnut on the stud and then proceeds to drill it all the way on with the impact wrench until it will not turn anymore. Then repeats the process in a clockwise pattern with the other lugnuts, then repeats that on all four wheels.

If you are looking for a way to bend your wheel completely out of round on it's axis, this is the best way I can think of. In all four opportunities this idiot had with this car not once did he use a torque stick, or torque wrench to ensure proper tourque on the lugnuts. Not once did he put all five lugnuts on the studs and cinch them up close before drilling the crap out of them with that impact wrench. It was right about that time that I realized that I should take my truck elsewhere. It cost more to go to another shop, but at least my wheels were not bent.

This also isn't an isolated incident. I've heard this from friends that witnessed their cars being treated the same way, so I spent half a day at a walmart service center watching other employees. About half the time, when a tire guy would reinstall the wheels on the vehicle, it was clear he didn't know what he was doing, but who is going to tell them?

sorry walmart, it's true.

Wal Mart Tire and Lube Express Store #0224 , Mt. Vernon, IL Bent all 4 rims while installing new tires and will not cover repair or replacement.

Well, in responce to the employee "Shawn" I paid for the tires and if I were wanting something for free I wouldn't have bought the tires in the first place. I did not ask for free tires I had to pay for them and I already had custom chrome wheels that had been on the car since it was new without ever having a problem with them.

I bought the wheels I bought the tires so why would I suddenly want to get something free after all the years of buying what I wanted.
No I wanted what was damaged by Wal Mart fixed or replaced and they could have used thier corp. buying power to purchase new rims at below wholesale or at least get my rims repaired since there are companies that do that also. You don't have to worry about me doing business with your firm again they ripped me off and dammaged my wheels left me hanging and continue to not be concerned about the safety hazzard they created on my car.

The simple fact is my car did not have a problem until after getting tires from Wal Mart in Mt. Vernon, IL and I have taken it to have tires mounted elsewhere in the past with no problems and had them regulary rotated never having a problem.

I just pray every day that people like those that damaged my car will someday take responsibility for a simple accident I am sure but never less accident or not my property was damaged and should have been repaired or replaced.

I knew something was up right away with this person. I just sat down and signed on to ROR as I do every morning before work. I then see 6 consecutive WalMart posts, and this Shawn character has the last rebuttal on each, which brought them to the top of search results. I suspected foul play here.

I was guessing this moron was a Wally Mart employee, but the question is, why was Shawn on ROR pulling up every WaLMart post? Must be a new employee in the TLE.

Just another classic case of what works at Wally mart TLE! How about leaning how to spell, punctuate, Capitalize, and use proper grammar! AND, It's NOT the TIRES that bend, genius, its the RIMS! Furthermore, custom wheels MUST be torqued! They will bend when lugs are installed with an air ratchet as you monkeys do it. But again, you fools use the air ratchet to install oil drain plugs too!

My advice, go back to school so you can appear to be literate, and then get a real job at a real shop.
