USXpress doesnt care about their drivers

AUTHOR: K - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 30, 2006

To Brandon whos comment was lame, bugger off, if youre getting good miles and getting treated good, youre blowing someone. Once USX started doing rail all the time drivers started sitting all over the place.

Max Fuller cares abotu one thing and one thing only and its not the drivers. Its putting another penny in his pocket. Open door policy yea, if you can track him down and corner him, he doesnt return msgs or calls either. Good luck with the lawsuit, Im looking fo rone of mine own as well!

If you dispute those accidents that are reported against you you can get them removed.

Ask for a copy of the accident report. Send your request for each one separate and by certified mail, return reciept requested. Keep copies.

When they do not reply within 30 Days, submit the request to DAC/USIS to remove the entries. Send these the same way.

Your truck driving career is only over if you want it to be.

There are hindreds of companies out there that will hire you on the spot as long as you have a heartbeat and a clean CDL and can pass a drug test.

I take ZERO BS from anyone and have a DAC to prove it. But, I can still go from one co to the next with no problem. I carry all documentation with me, even on the road.

If a company fires me out on the road, I drive thier truck to the next job.

Owner operator is the only way to go really. That is what I am trying to do right now.

More Moaning and Groaning

AUTHOR: Brandon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 10, 2006

How about this, talk to someone higher than Wally. That would be a good start. All of you other people that feel like complaining, welcome to the trucking industry. US is a great company. Like any other business in this country, they have their problems. But I never see any of ya'll trying to fix anything. Only getting on web sites, on the CB, or complaining in the truck stop about how mistreated you are. Get a clue. Not all company's are for everybody. US does rail service. If you don't like it, find a company that doesn't do rail service. Kind of like if you don't like chinese food, don't complain about it, go eat somewhere else. The DAK report can be a travesty. There are ways to deal with that information though. Some of those methods don't include US. You can file a report with DAK disputing the information. If you really feel you were wronged, hire a lawyer. Going to sites like this makes me think you are guilty. If they were wrong, I would be fixing it, not complaining about it.

By the way, the guy who said he didn't get any miles. You didn't turn in your hours like you were supposed to did you. I worked for US for more than 3 years. Very rarely did I run fewer than 2800 miles a week. That tells me they are there, you just didn't do the required things to get them. I could get 2500 a week running mostly rail loads. I didn't complain, and I ran what they asked me to. No problem. Try it once, you'll like the result.

USXpress is disgrace to the trucking industry

AUTHOR: Jeanine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 20, 2004

I am a 61 yr old woman who worked for USX for 3.5 yrs and never received a moving violation, DO
T reportable accident and never late on a load.
At one time I thought USX was the greatest company on the road, until September 2003 when I called safety and told them I needed to shut my truck down for safety reasons, because I had just found out that my housemates had stolen everything I owned, including my car and placed them in two different storage places and would not tell me where they were. Needless to say! I was frantic and very emotional because I was in Charlotte, NC, at a Truck Stop and felt I was to emotional to drive. I asked safety on Saturday and ask to put my PTA out until Monday morning so I could calm myself down. Safety told me sure that I was doing the right thing. On Monday morning, David Jones in Safety called and told me that I was being suspended for two weeks and would be called in for an evalation on the third week. I told him I had no place to go home because I lived on my truck and I had a little dog, so I couldn't ride the bus home. He said that was not his problem and told me to get home the best way I could. He told me I was being suspended because I was not mentally capable of driving their truck. It cost me over $500 to get back to Arlington, Tx.

I have since then talked to DOT on three different occasions and they advised me that USX had broken a Federal Law by putting me off the truck without a letter from a doctor because that was not his call to make, that it was strictly up to the driver's discretion if he/she could or could not drive and that under no circumstances could USX come back and punish me for shutting that truck down for safety reasons. Then, to top it off, they, USX tried to say that I had abandoned the truck and charge me $500 which was an outright lie, but I got that straightened out.

For nine months after I quit, they kept sending me letters to come back as a rehire, and when I would call, just to see what they would say, they denied me three times. It is one year later now and I just received another letter asking me to come back as a rehire and they turned me down again. I told them if I got one more letter I would sue them for mental harrassment. (I have have been and was at the time of employment diagnosed with major depression, which makes me an American with a disablity, and that's exactly what they used to suspend me.)

Because of this company my career as a truck driver is over because of five rediculous accidents, which should have been classified as incidents, no one will even talk me about another driving job. For one thing, USX is the only company that I have worked for and I'm not used to driving a standard shift and no other company is willing to hire me and let me go out with a trainer so I can learn all over how to drive a standard shift.

The reason I quit was because I knew it was just going to keep happening over and over, because I knew who was behind it and evidently he had a lot more power than I ever suspected. He's only a driver liaison, but certainly must have something on someone at USX because he now has my ex-roomate working with him in Oklahoma City.

I hope USX gets what's coming to them. You have my support if anyone wants to file a lawsuit against them. I tried, but could not find an attorney to take the case because I don't have the money to fight a big company like USX.

Sincerely

US Xpress also known as Idiot Xpress-Pass on these fools

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 04, 2004

I worked for US Xpress. I ran 48 states. My terminal was in Ontario, Ca. These guys are losers, big time. I did hauls to the rail yards, but the dispatchers never called the railroad and checked the trailer in. So, the rail yard wouldn't accept the trailer. I'd get on the Qual and try to straighten it out. But, you're dealing with idiots at USX. Most days were like that.

My last week there, they told me to do a team load, LA to Dallas in 26 hours. I drove it. I did 1400 miles before. This was nothing new. A week later, the safety dept found out that a solo was running a team load. I didn't ask for the load. I really didn't want it either. But, I ran it because they asked me to. They turned around and suspended me. You believe that s**t? f**k 'em.
I went home and never went back. In the three months I was there, I seen them push all kinds of illegal s**t on drivers. Then, they turn around and blame the drivers if something goes wrong. USX isn't the only one. The whole industry does this kind of s**t. Why do you think there is always a driver shortage. Truck drivers ain't the smartest people in the world. But, even they figure out that the jobs are nothing but bullshit after a short time. That's why they all quit or try another company. As a truck driver, you can expect to work at least 100 hours a week.

You're lucky if you get $800 for all that time. A big $8 an hour! And you have to put up with a lot of aggravation from your company and some of the customers. No thanks! I can find a better way than that to make a living. If you are thinking of a trucking career, think again. Chances are, you will run into many of the same problems that I did.

If you are a trucker now, my thanks goes out to you. Truckers work d**n hard and put up with a lot of problems just so people like me can have the things we need to live. The problem isn't the drivers. It's the trash companies. They suck all the good out of the jobs.

Trucking itself is actually a decent job. It's the trash companies like Swift, US Xpress, and England that cause the problems. I wish to god that all the drivers could get together and start their own company. Owned by drivers and run by drivers. The roads would be a hell of a lot safer if all the truck drivers could get a decent night's sleep. Plus, if all the drivers got together, they could demand higher rates.

Trucking is hard, and dangerous. The drivers should be making about $1500 each week for all the risks they have to take. Anyway, I'd skip US Xpress if I were you. Many drivers don't even last 6 months.

Your best bet is to finance your own truck and run as an independent. Even bullshit broker rip-off loads are better than being a company slave. Eventually, these guys will change their name. Just like Prime became New Prime. Same lease rip-offs with a shiny new name.

#2 UPDATE Employee

My experince with USXI

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 27, 2004

Well I dare say that most trucking companies tend to use that DAK report as a way to get even for what ever unjust they feel an employee caused them rather than the tool it was really set up for. I have very little to complain about USXI other than the BS recruiters offered about truck speed ect and what really was.

They have got me great miles, I have a great dispatcher but yes they are extremely large company. They claim open door policy, but dont tell you the door always leads to unseated offices and unanswered messages. So be it I say! There are many comapanies that are far far worse. As for your "changing truck speed" Yes they will and 90% of all truck companies will fire you for altering it, I would like to have mine done since they cut my truck back due to fuel prices.

I wont as my job is important to me and well if they load is late by an hour or so they can blame themsleves for slowing it up. If you work for a large company you can expect alot of BS, if you drive truck really you can expect alot of BS. As far as you trying to get a driving job, you will likely have to apply for some sort of lame like pallet truck or bull rack job, lame as in hard work not lame as in easy. bull rack is to me the toughest hualing there is so please dont yell at me, I respect bull haulers, they are the "true cowboy" truckers left out there today.

Anyway drive for a year or two doing that and then you can find the cushy driving job again. As for them getting rid of you for turning your truck up well tell your perspective employer "I was told by another driver it was okay to do so, I was new and niave, now I am older and know better. I was suspended and at the time I was fustrated over being suspended for something I thought was allowed and now I know better" May help ya out!

USxpress has ignored every request to resolve unfinished buisness

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 12, 2003

USxpress has ignored every request to resolve unfinished buisness with me their ex-employee.I strived with all my heart and soul to be an outstanding employee, however I was never acknowledged and somehow all the service failure's were ensued upon my credibillity as a professional driver.

Circumstances such as flat tires, unswept trailers, inadequate directions, and failure to be available to accept my calls to inquire essential information reguarding the load.I always notified my dispatchers failure of communication seemed to be my problem altogether.I feel as though I deserve a second chance with USxpress.

I loved my job and the company, I sincerely miss my possition. After all it was my first year driveing solo OTR and haveing exspierienced driveing the 48 contingent States and Canada can be overwhelming.

It has been 1 year as of 02/14/2004 I believe someone should be persuaded to reconsider their unjust decision that has set me back in my life.I belong to the road I've had a year to think about the choices I make in life .
