My wife went to Lincoln NE for the weekend and I had to work here. I shopped at our local supercenter and she went to one in Lincoln. Our account is a joint account so either signature is acceptable and the last I heard there was no rule written, unwritten, or even implied that a husband and wife HAD to be in the same town at all times.
Telecheck is Walmart's partner...they froze my account because they THOUGHT there was fraud. The same account in two WalMarts in separate states. All anyone has to do is check someone's ID. Now, for the second time in six months, going to WalMart with their Telecheck has resulted in my account being frozen for six days. Can't get gas for the car or anything. Have no clue how my wife and granddaughter will get home tomorrow.
Nobody cares and the little people like us are constantly being wronged. We graced WalMart twice with our business yesterday and THIS is how we are THANKED??
So much for their Customer Satisfaction Guarantee. WalMart will never sell me another thing as long as I live. Somebody somewhere needs to be able to stop these idiots.
WlaMart management did nothing after the first time we brought it to their attention. Now, here we go again. Never again WalMart. YOU LOSE. I DOUBT doing THIS will result in anything but I clearly see I'm not alone. Rip-OffReport jhas never accomplished anything in the past so I expect nothing now

They saw 2 checks from 2 different locations on the same day. It probably triggered a security alert. Call your bank to verify that your account is really frozen. It may be that Telecheck informed your bank that you might be a victem of fraud.
In the future, use bankcards. Hardly anyone uses checks anymore! Soon, paper checks will be obsolete.

I believe your problem is with Telecheck. They are a company that processes your your written check to Walmart as though it were an ATM or other electronic debit from your checking account.
No one except the Internal Revenue Service can freeze your checking account at your bank without a court order. Your checking account should be fine and other businesses who do not use telecheck to process written checks should have no difficulties accepting your checks.
Telecheck has information about what to do about check denials on their website. I suggest you take a look at

Also, any bank card you have attached to this checking account should be fine so if your wife has a bankcard for this account in her possession she should be fine.
You might consider writting a letter to Walmart corporate HQ letting them know you're tired of the mistakes Telecheck makes and suggest they use a different company to process customer transactions.
